Why do most MCU movies look like TV shows with a decent budget? What is with the lack of good cinematography? Is it because most of the directors they hire worked in TV?

GOTG and the new Thor movie are the exceptions so far.

No just something that looks "cinematic" in the "cinematic" universe. As opposed to Netflicks after cash bonus
>>
>>91647878
I think the issue is environment and effects. Laser blasts, swoosh magic, not too impressive. The environment itself is pretty bland because it's just everyday areas. The prison and Wakanda both looked sort of cinematic but they weren't on screen for long. GotG and Thor both have more interesting environments to flex their movie magic.

They don't.

do you have more examples or just this overused scene of civil war??

It's just some shit meme, 'looks like a tv show' has no definition.
The fact that they name absolutely nothing specific after all these months should tell you how nondescript that wording is meant to be.

Look for any marvel movie scene that takes place in a place with alot of grays (a city) in day. Most movies color grade their scenes to make colors pop and make the movie look more interesting visually. Marvel up until GotG2 refused to colorgrade their movies differently. Look at how much better GotG2 looks compared to other movies.

I got it, you like shiny neon colors, like fireballs, lasers, and kryptonite. Is that why fireballs appear when Superman and Zod punch each other through them?

Snyder inherently understands that comic book movies shouldn't be movies about comic books. You don't take the quips from comic books or the stale dialogue or the one-dimensional characters that only embody one concept like justice or goodness. Because comic books are targeted at a younger demographic and while its ok to read about a perfectly good being when you're 12, it's not so interesting when you're 25.

So he adds more. He makes movies more cinematic by getting rid of the quips which ruin the timing and tension in a scene. He improves the dialogue with actual metaphors and mythological parallels. He creates depth in characters by making them troubled, as they would be in a universe where people are walking talking atomic bombs.

People go into his movies expecting a comic book movie. He instead makes a movie based on a comic book.

They are rushed obviously.. The scripts seem to work for most people, but these films are ugly and bland

Oscar Bait?

Because its fucking vanilla. Cinematic shots are creative and creative can be divisive. MCU needs to appeal to as many people as possible. Shooting it as generic and as tv-like as possible means it is less likely to put anyone off.

>>91652828
yeah and he loves to fuck the story and the characters if it means getting a "cool" shot

>Snyder understands how to make a film a visually appealing and nothing else

bull fucking shit, unless you love it being dark as hell the entire time. Just look at >>91653529 everything is dark as shit. They look like "mature" video games.

>unless you love it being dark as hell the entire time
1st dark=bad to you?
2nd if dark is the aesthetic he's going for that's perfectly fine
3rd if we're talking about brightness snyder's films are not actually that dark nolan's batman films and much darker than anything he's made for DC
>>
>>91655216
Dark isn't inherently bad. If it was more varied through the movie I think the dark shots would work better in some cases, but when it is the entire movie it doesn't look good to me.

Some shots look bland because of it like this shot. Not to mention I personally dislike his suit looks nearly black there.

If it was super dark, and then kinda of gotten brighter throughout the movie or at the Superman scenes, I think it would have been a lot more interesting, and would represent the hope Superman brings by literally brightening the movie. The entire movie being dark is just boring to me. Its depressing, and the movie wasn't good enough to justify its dour tone
