Never seen it but my Grandpa who is suffering from cancer wants to watch it with me because he grew up reading Batman and Superman comics. I'm afraid he's about to pass soon so I want the last movie we see together to be special.
Listen OP, just watch the fucking film.

On the plus side, sitting through it will give you a real sense of empathy for someone enduring Cancer.
I liked it. Be sure to watch the ultimate edition.

This is from the opening speech.
"But things fall, things on Earth. And what falls, is fallen."
That indicates the quality of writing.

He wants to watch it with you and he has cancer, indulge him honestly he will probably like it anyway

You are probably better off asking /tv/

If he hasn't seen DCAU, just binge the best DCAU episodes with him.
BvS is a Gritty Reimagining of both Batman and Superman that, on the bright side, will let him know it is time to leave this earth.
It's good but ihonestly, for a last movie to watch with your grandpa I'd imagine something a bit more upbeat and optimistic would be more appropriate.

Fuck that, if I was at death's door with terminal illness I'd watch whatever I could get my hands on. Honestly being so close to the other side would probably give you an outlook on life that most of us won't experience until we get to that point itself.
Hell, I can see myself sending myself off with The Muppets take on Broadway.
