It's pretty obvious Alderode is striking at the hidden construct factory. We were out right told that they were looking for something like that. Not to mention said hidden factory is no doubt their destination, as Best Crescian Wife only told Quiggley were to go on the river because he needed a special large scale construct bunner to fix Uaid.

Why the characters don't seem to recognize this is another thing. Perhaps Duane doesn't know because Quiggley decided not to tell him where he was immediately bound. Just that they were going on the river.

Ironcally, I think Cope has commented that Sette's poor hygiene and Duane's status as a dissolving corpse with no sense of smell means that they both stink something fierce.

What I really wonder is how Duane offsets his odor, since he seems like it'd bother him to know his stench offends people. Does he just magic it away, or does he resort to more mundane methods like stuffing corpsy bits with fragrant spices?
