Classes should not be tied to appearance at all. That was the one good thing about the earlier EAfronts system and the one awful thing about the originals. If you wanted to be a sand trooper you were forced to use a shitty rocket launcher and if you wanted to be a Rebel pilot you had to use some dumb ass shotgun.
Classes should determine ability and special equipment loadout, not what primary weapons you have access to.

Yeah I get if someone wants to have the physical thing, I sort of get the collecting mentality. I've collected some of the action figures myself.

but for me, most of the fiction/media/guides it's mostly information to be consumed and since it's so stupidly easy to get everything on the internet now, even obscure stuff, I wanted to take advantage of that and have it all neatly organized in a library that doesn't take any physical space and is very easy to search through. The only Star Wars stuff I have on my shelf is the 2011 blu-ray box set. It's funny though I don't typically see the point in hoarding digital files, but in the case of star wars (specifically the EU) it seems to make perfect sense.

Actually I just realized, I'm missing Filoni's Clone Wars. I watched it on netflix in chronological order once, but I don't have digital files or any dvd's. It's not super important though since it's relatively fresh in my memory.

No they're clearly hinting that he has a future in the Unknown Regions in his book. My guess is that while the rebels don't win the Battle of Lothal they find out about the Death Star and sabatoge the Empire's mining efforts on the planet forcing them to go to Jedha to mine for crystals (which would also show Saw moving to the planet probably so he could attempt to sabatoge their efforts meanwhile the Alliance wants to wait and attempt peaceful reform since they are beginning to believe open warfare with the Empire is impossible which causes their falling out). Because of this Thrawn likely deduces that Palpatine will have him killed because of his underestimation of the Rebellion so he flees to Chiss space. Then we'll get a book or something showing what he was up to during the time of the First Order.

I hope it's a return to the omnibus format of The Clone Wars, with multiple point of view characters. I enjoy Rebels quite a bit, but the limitations of the format meant they couldn't really explore that era as fully as they could if the storytelling was decoupled from the core group of main characters.

It's really obvious that TCW's format gave Filoni a lot more freedom to tell a huge variety of stories.

For what it's worth, I think it's just that a couple of people in the ST cast and crew can be difficult to deal with and it probably spoiled it for the rest. Abrams seemed like a bit of a prima donna and the impression I got from Daisy during celebration was that she was both in over her head and a bit dim and self centered in the way young women who suddenly have a lot of fame tend to be. John and Adam and Oscar seem like they're cool dudes and professional but they're not the ones the other castmates spend most time around compared to the director and lead.

R2 is overrated. He doesnt speak and has very limited ability to express emotions, so the viewer simply projects his thoughts no him and likes the imagined version of R2 instead of what is given in the films. Same goes for Chewbacca, but less.

If you're first and foremost a fan of the cartoons and anything animated, it makes sense for Filoni to be your hero. But for example if you're pretty well-versed in the Rise of the Empire era material, (that entire landscape consisting primarily of Dark Horse/Del Ray publishing with the Clone Wars project set the middle), then Filoni might not be all that high on your list. He could get a pass, and obviously nearly every fan acknowledges TCW on some level or at the very least bits of it. But the relationship is obviously a bit different compared to someone who's mostly into the animated stuff.

My background is a bit different. I watched Filoni's show first, but I remember thinking "this is entertaining enough, if I try, but doesn't feel compatible with what I saw in the prequels". I had only read a few comics, seen the 2003 series and had played RC. So I delved back to the old project with a fresh set of eyes and to my lack of surprise, it felt lot closer to what I imagined clone wars really being like. My theory as to why this is comes mostly due to a couple of things. 1st. The previous multimedia project unfolded alongside the movie releases which helped avoid stuff like retroactive referencing, which TCW had a lot:

then for example, you had the case of anakin constantly having to avoid grievous in TCW

other stuff that I didn't dig was revisiting geonosis, mustafar, etc. Didn't feel right at all thematically.

Also just wasn't a fan of Baker doing the clone trooper voice. The humanization of the clones was also done better in the books. Everything about the clones, I just didn't connect with. Lacked the detail I wanted. Quickly all the little bits and pieces I didn't like about the show, start to form huge chunks and you know how it goes. Ahsoka was cool, the resurrection of maul unexpectedly turned out really fascinating.

Though I personally do not much care for it outside of visuals, Rogue One is an objectively better movie than TFA. However, RO has the rest of the franchise we already know and love holding it up, and I do not believe it otherwise would have gotten the same degree of praise if it weren't relying on the weight of the franchise. TFA however, while almost totally unenjoyable and ugly on its own, has the potential to be retroactively made great if 8 and 9 are spectacular and actually let us know what the hell is going on in the universe. yeah but as Mark knows (and always says after saying stuff like this but the channel cuts off the video beforehand) the movie isn't about Luke/Han/Leia. It's about Rey/Finn/Kylo Ren. The reason why Luke wasn't in the movie was because they couldn't keep the focus on the new characters with him on screen because then everyone's attention shifts permanently to Luke. Especially with how much Han was in the movie, if Luke was in it at least as much as Leia was then no one would care about the new characters.

And think about it, if Luke was the one who caught the lightsaber and not Ray, you get an amazing moment, but it's really just fan service. Because it'd just be a deus ex machina moment where the lightsaber duel has no tension whatsoever because you know Kylo Ren has no chance against Luke, especially after he just killed Han. And it invalidates the whole arcs of both Rey and Finn, who needed to duel Kylo at the end.

It's like if Obi-Wan was revealed to be alive and in a stolen TIE Fighter during the trench run and he was the one who fires the shot at the end and blows up the Death Star. Or even if Han did it in the Falcon. It'd be cool, yeah, but it's Luke's arc and his moment.

I think Rukh may still kill him but not in Rebels. Filoni may be planting the seeds and the payoff will be in the next show, at which point Rukh will canonically have been with Thrawn for possibly several years and making his betrayal (and his anger at having been bamboozled into serving a guy who is fucking his people) stronger.

Cut Lawquane is the first Clone defector and Rex barely understands him, he is an anomaly.

But as the war progresses, and Rex learns from Anakin, Rex himself becomes partial to bending the rules, and eventually removes his own chip.

Turns out that some of the scenes with him speaking to Yoda was just Mark talking to a piece of paper with Yoda written on it.
