This seems to be the actual issue. Certain writers fall in love with a type of character and they just keep on creating that same thing over and over again between companies.

Starlin made Mar-Vel then Thanos, then Mongul, then he tried again around 09-ish with the Demiurge who might as well be Thanos:Take 3
