Doctor Strange explains its magic as attuning your mind to draw energies from other dimensions.

It seems to me that exposure to the mindstone just sort of blew open the doors for Wanda and Peitro, letting them attune to other worlds. Peitro just drew from some kind of speed attribute dimension (sort of like how the timelessness of the dark dimension can be used for spells) but Wanda seems closer to a traditional sorcerer. But neither of them actually know what they are doing.

This reconciles Wanda's origins with magic as explained in Doctor Strange. It also leaves open the possibility of giving Wanda her traditional chaos magic gimmick to distinguish herself from Strange, owing to either her being primary bound to a specific chaos realm, or just the effects of the mind stone giving her an unusual magic style unlike what was taught by TAO.

I never could figure out Remender's point in that story. It made no sense. Wanda was pledging to honor Xavier's dream on one page and saying "why did there need to be mutants anyway" literally 2 pages later.

The only thing more unconvincing was the way she and Rogue suddenly started liking each other late in the run with no explanation.

I thought Remender asked for Wanda because he wanted to "fix" her but now I'm convinced he just needed a character he could kill and resurrect without any fuss.

Though by the time he did Axis he was clearly just writing meta-speeches about how Wanda was treated by writers, I don't think this speech makes sense any other way.
