Hard to hate a character that hasn't seen development in forever.

While there's not much to specifically like about her, as long as Stevonnie doesn't show up instead then I'm generally content.

She was nice as the human anchor to Steven besides his dad, but his own age. What I don't like is that she gets moer and more envolved in the gem stuff. And eventhough it should be absoloutly impossible for a normal human to beat a non corrupted gem I can see her do it in the future.
What makes things worse is that people and the creators themselfs somehow think their fusion would be more powerfull then base Steven, ignoring that there is only one gem to power the body and no new energy inupt for a positive inteference.

Yet, somehow, I am still pic related and hope something good will come out of it in the end.

Don't hate her but if they took her off the show I wouldn't think twice about it.

Initially Connie seemed like she would end up being the "normal" character serving as a foil to all the gem related stuff Steven goes through. The type who remains calm and gives grounded advice when the protag is overwhelmed by all the insanity. Which would have been fine and even respectable if the creators were going for a support character.

But no, all the women in SU have to be "special". They tried to make her interesting later on in the series by giving her all this meaningless conflict and involvement. Which ironically just made her less interesting and feel more like a self insert.
