The inversion has been fading off overtime. Bunn's Uncanny X-men's arc for him was basically him realising he didn't have much time left as his inverted-self and by the end was at least partially back to his old self. So he's not full on super-villain Creed, but he's not the heroic one that he was after the inversion. More of a middle ground that continues to slide back to his worse tendencies.

Inverted Creed hated killing. Normal Creed loves killing. This Creed loves killing but at least partially regrets his love for it. Presumably, Pak could always just go "yeah, no, the inversion is completely gone and he's back to full asshole Creed."
