3rd season was largely nonsensical
>>91472596
It was god awful. The end of JL animated Superman was a cunt and the episodes were bizarre tales featuring C-D list characters no one cared about.
They used the most boring Earth Lantern, and wrote out Supergirl for no reason.
>>91472715
>They used the most boring Earth Lantern
True, but he was actually good in it. Unlike nearly everything he's in.
>>91472715
That Supergirl episode was good LoSH fanservice at least. Could have had her come back though.
To someone who didn't read comics, it could be hard to follow.
I still liked it a lot thoughbut not as much as Teen Titans
>>91472747
I don't know much about the LOSH but it was utter BS how they had Brainiac 5 and Supergirl be "in love" after they talked to each other once.
>>91472826
The love at first sight thing is normal for them but she usually goes back home and they just have a long distance flirtation thing across time.
I believe she actually was going to stay there long term at some point but before Levitz could do it Wolfman killed her in COIE. This would have been years after the first met though, not just in a day.
Fucking loved this show
>>91472899
Well like I said I don't know much about the LoSH, but if they were going to that they should've had more interaction.
>>91472776
>To someone who didn't read comics, it could be hard to follow
It wasn't for comics fans anon. It was for children.
>>91472776
I didn't read comics back when I watched the cartoon, and JL is what made me get interested in the larger DC lore and start paying more attention to comics.
I enjoy the feeling of being overwhelmed by the scope of a large supporting cast with on-going stories I didn't know about before I met them.
>>91472552
This team had too many stoic/hardass characters in it. They were so serious, only hawk girl, flash and sometimes Superman really joked around.
>>91473332
That''s 3 out of the 7 founding members. Plus MMH had a pretty dry sense of humor. Even Batman cracked a few jokes, and he even fucking sang in one episode.
The JL/JLU got plenty serious, but it had its share of humor and quips.
>>91473420
It's more like 2.5/7.
WW, Batman, GL and MM were hardasses or stoic most of the time. I found the plots interesting, but I found most of the characters pretty boring.
>>91473522
Even if the characters were humorless there was plenty of funny dialog/situations. The show has made me laugh out loud plenty of times.
Agree to disagree I guess.
>>91472552
but anon, that's not superman: the animated series.
>>91473415
Second half of season 2 holds it back.
>>91472552
>ITT: Perfect shows don't exis-
"Perfect" is subjective. There is no such thing as a perfect show that EVERYBODY loves.
With that in mind, AtLA hits almost perfect to me.
>>91474735
>Fauxime
>Perfect or even good.
>>91474843
>>Fauxime
what is that
>>91475170
Faux-Anime is what I think he mean by that.
Spectacular Spider-Man is probably closest to perfect for me but the art style is the issue there. You get over it after a while, but that makes it a 9.9/10
>>91472715
>and wrote out Supergirl for no reason
They wrote her out in the finale season. Her going to the Legion was a better end than anybody else got
>>91473248
>I didn't read comics back when I watched the cartoon, and JL is what made me get interested in the larger DC lore and start paying more attention to comics.
Literally me
>>91475240
I didn't even mind the art style, particularly for the time it came out. Every cartoon was either a Timm rip-off or watered-down anime, so it was a fresh breath of it.
>>91472552
JL was a much comfier show than JLU
After a bunch of other heroes joined the original 7 started drifting apart :/
>there will never another cartoon that brings together multiple shows and weaves them into one coherent continuity
>with the same writers
Why will we never have another DCAU?
>>91474735
>>91472552
They were the best of their era
>>91472552
JLU had that Hawk and Dove episode.
>>91477304
>JL/JLU
>best animation
Even back then it was stiff as hell.
>>91477313
I'd say that was the only real stinker for the Cadmus arc season, but man was it a stinker.
Still, what a ride that was.
>>91477328
I mean best Show across the board, not solely based on "animation"
>>91477304
TTG!
>>91472660
Because Timm and Dini hate their husbando being shown up.
>>91472552
>I actually wanted to make this post yesterday
/co/ is a hive mind
Who doesn't love Batwank the show
>>91472552
the lazy art really takes a couple points off for me. What would be 9/10 ended up a 7/10
>>91477163
I remember reading somewhere that apparently, the Justice League doesn't last long after the Apokolips invasion. Tim Drake being kidnapped and brainwashed by Joker shortly after causes Batman to leave, and it goes downhill from there as more and more heroes leave for various reasons. Which explains why the Batman Beyond era Justice League has only a handful of members.
>>91473244
>It wasn't for comics fans anon. It was for children.
This show was anything but for kids
>>91482661
Oh fuck off. I'm so tired of people overreacting every time something dark happens in a KIDS show
>>91472552
perfect would imply no flaws. and Diana's gradeschool crush on bruce was a flaw.
>>91475227
>>91475170
>>91474843
shitty contraction, you sposed to pronounce that "Fow-nih-may"?
>>91472715
Hal was only in part of one episode of the entire series though.
