I could almost put Fry's personal crap aside. At least he's not Wendig levels of violent SJW craziness. EGtW is the only thing I've read of his so far, and it was... just awful. It sells itself as being a serious book about the practical elements and gritty tech and details of Star Wars battle and warfare, written by someone who doesn't even have a basic grasp of warfare, militaries, or combat at all, and it shows.

I've heard SotE isn't bad, so I may be willing to give it a chance, but I don't know. Between his book and his social media, Fry's left a bad bad taste in my mouth.

The point of acting isn't to emulate another, but to make the character your own. That said, JAT's Genndywars Obi-Wan sounded much better than his TCW Obi-Wan. Dice DID have different skins for Luke/Leia/Han on certain maps (specifically Hoth/Endor.)

But for the most part, characters only had one skin, and they didn't seem too bothered about keeping skins map-accurate.

Here's why that won't happen anon.

In an average video game, things have some pretense of balance between high end and low end when shooters have to be skill based. In the old Battlefront you had higher tier characters to unlock, but that reset every match so it was self contained. In a shooter like TF2 every character has checks and balances. It's based on what weapons you have and how you use powerups that are limited.

EAfield has none of that. You're expected to grind to win shit for your character that carries over and that's where their money comes from. So pay to win people and guys who can just take a week from everything to grind will always dominate anything below that because long and even most mid range guns are locked behind a wall for the first few levels and good ones are often DLC only. You carry powerups with you so you don't need to strategize about making a run for them, and they work on the same principal of mostly being flat better, in addition to normal powerups that don't really even the score.

Balancing the game would remove all of the microtransactions, and we know that ain't fuckin happening.

Jokes aside, I think it's really telling to the Lucasfilm mindset, and the wider mindset in general, that literally everyone in Star Wars seems to just be dying alone. Han and Leia couldn't stay married. Luke dies alone and childless. Ahsoka, a B lister, has nobody outside of being a rent-a-jedi up to the GCW and even that leather skinned brown lesbian didn't actually stick around or get mentioned anywhere. Cassian and Jyn had like no chemistry but they're now the rule and not the exception. Rey's thing with Finn was cringeworthy on both ends.

The only guys to actually get laid in Nucanon are Zaire Leonis, a C tier understudy to a B tier wannabe Ben Kenobi literally won't give the time of day; and Thane Kyrell, a guy we're most likley never going to see again because he's below even that.

Speaking of Grievous, I think one of my main issues with the prequels is how the B-villains didn't seem to connect much.

Darth Maul was badass.
Then Dooku was cool, but apparently he's been around for a while ... okay neat.

It all just seems disjointed imo. They're all great on their own, but I feel like they could've been so much more.

You know, if we haven't gotten spoiled that "former Jedi = Sith now" thanks to Vader and the OT, Dooku would have been an interesting villain, and a decent twist. Like the whole time, the Jedi have been saying how this Dooku person couldn't possibly be behind assassinations, he's a former Jedi, Jedi don't do that shit. Then when we see him for the first time he's talking about how the Sith are controlling the Republic, and we start to wonder if he has good motivations for starting the Separatist movement and such. Maybe he's really a good guy in disguise.

Then BAM, he shoots lightning out of his hands and has a red lightsaber, holy shit. Then he meets up with Sheev and we learn Dooku was really this "Tyranus" guy the whole time.
