People keep saying "BUT MUH CHEMISTRY" thing but holy shit it's so obvious that Keith is going to be the permanent black paladin. I have no idea why one would expect more. Tim already confirmed there is something special about Keith and the whole catmancing thing.

As for Blue, that lion is literally babby mode. It loves everyone it accepts, which I see as a detriment to Lance. He's never going to improve as a pilot if he gets the one with training wheels. If anything switching his lion will give him some much needed development.

As a Kallura Elder it frustrates me how people get too attached to the lionlore thing when they disregard how Keith has already challenged that notion with sensing Blue, beckoning Red at extreme distances, and convincing Black to let him in.

I've always imagined he was a model cadet, but the way the Garrison easily pinned the Kerberos mission's failure on him made me think that perhaps Shiro was a little of a troublemaker even as a legendary pilot. Not in the sense of having disciplinary issues, but in the sense of challenging the Garrison's thoughts and beliefs.
There is a possibility that hologramShiro was Shiro's pre-kerberos personality and that the arena changed him. Maybe Keith never brought it up because he knew Shiro was already suffering from PTSD to worry about some personality change. You're the same bitches that turned Bobby gay and applauded Bendis for being "progressive" at the expense of a character's identity. Blue brought five pilots to the castle because Voltron needed five pilots; there wouldn't have been a need for five pilots if there was already someone in the castle that could pilot a lion. Allura should not pilot a lion, it reduces Shiro to being an unnecessary character. It's as simple as that. This kind of disrespect for characters is symptomatic of the neo-feminist agenda that rationalizes tearing down men to promote women despite there being in-universe explanations for why a woman wasn't already doing what she all-of-a-sudden is capable of doing and apparently "always has been". It also reduces the lions to being basically mindless and incapable of the gift of selection if there was a viable pilot candidate already at the castle, they REJECTED her, and now she can just force her way into one because she's a snowflake.

Literally fuck all of that. This isn't even remotely good writing. They'd throw out pre-established lore just to puff a secondary into a role she was clearly never meant to occupy in this version of Voltron. It's cancerous, corrosive to the story, degrading to a character that's already beloved and accepted and WAS CHOSEN by an entity that has that right, and does not need to happen.
