Never forget /co/, he stood alone at Gjallerbru.
>>91439150
though the Executioner stands alone, and the warriors of Hel seem numberless, not one sets foot upon the bridge across the river Gjoll. They sing no songs in Hel... nor do they celebrate heroes... for silent is that dismal realm and cheerless... but the story of the Gjallerbru and the god who defended it is whispered across the Nine Worlds. And when a new arrival asks about the one to whom even Hela bows her head... the answer is always the same... he stood alone at Gjallerbru... and that answer is enough.

I shall dump his sacrifice here to honor him

>>91439800
There is no need for thanks, just remember that he was duped for the last time by Enchantress after going from feared bad ass to the laughing stock of Asgard, even when he does have victories. And he sacrificed himself to take the last laugh, redeem himself and his honor but most importantly, he saved everyone by giving them a chance to live.
He stood alone at Gallerbru anons, he stood alone

Though you have to admit it's not like it hurts anything but looks and some weight.

It's good, very good even, but this is one of the absolute peaks. Skurge stood at Gjallerbru. Balder took up the sword.
>>91440600
>>91440863
There is a damned good reason why Simonson's Thor is considered one of the best runs of superhero comics ever. The first page of the run has Surtur forging his sword and it sets into motion this epic story toward Ragnarok that goes on for hundreds of pages, with just enough breaks in the pace to let you breath.
Can anyone post Thor God Sized? The one where Enchantress tries to revive Skurge?

Probably because they weren't trying to appeal to the "Extremely radical tubular" push of the 90's
Part of what really makes Skurge's last stand so great is that it is one of the few deaths that Marvel has never - AND I MEAN EVER - retconned. Hell, the last time someone actually tried to bring him back to life, the mere attempt nearly destroyed the entire universe.
If the film's version of his sacrifice is even half as good as the comic version, "Ragnarok" will have justified its existence.

>>91440160
It's funny how many weapons designers dislike what they had to make to the US Army's specifications and go on to do better things. Browning didn't want to make the 1911 in .45 and with the safety, so he came up with the superior Hi-Power which FN made some years after this death. Eugene Stoner was never really satisfied with the AR15 and came up with the much superior AR18 system afterwards.

To wait for the MCU to do Annihilation.
>>91454380
How can Marvel do Annihilation when they can't use:
>Annihilus
>the Negative Zone
>the Annihilation Wave
>Galactus
>Silver Surfer and the other Heralds
>Kl'rt
>Ronan
Pretty much every character involved in Annihilation except the Guardians, who are wildly different than their comic counterparts, Thanos, Quasar, and Richard Rider are off-limits.
I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if they used "Guardians of the Galaxy: Annihilation" or "Nova: Annihilation" as the name of a movie and just make it its own thing like Civil War/Age of Ultron/Ragnarok/etc. are/were, but it's not what you'd want I'm sure.
>>91454768
One day Marvel will buy all their non-X-Men stuff back. Fox isn't using any of that shit to any effect and with the kind of money Disney-Marvel is making it's a wonder this deal hasn't been done yet.
>>91454768
You could do Cancerverse and Space Ultron pretty well. My biggest fear is they'll have the Avengers front and center rather than go the "Nova and the Guardians saved the fucking universe while you chuckle fucks punched each other"
>>91444120
Damn.I never realized this was the same guy who followed around Enchantress. D'oh!
>>91454913
>"Nova and the Guardians saved the fucking universe while you chuckle fucks punched each other"
Kind of makes me wish they'd have saved the Civil War storyline so they could've had it happen simultaneously and make it look even more petty.
>>91454768
>I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if they used "Guardians of the Galaxy: Annihilation" or "Nova: Annihilation" as the name of a movie and just make it its own thing like Civil War/Age of Ultron/Ragnarok/etc. are/were, but it's not what you'd want I'm sure.
Everyone was "There's no way they could do Civil War without the F4 and the other hundred characters missing from the MCU", yet as you said, they just went ahead doing their own thing using what they had.
So for Annihilation, unfortunately, they could very well do the same.
>>91439150

>>91454380
MCU would do something interesting even without having all the characters.
Marvel Animation is doing it in GotG, they can use any character and still they will fuck it up. Already Wacker said that Sam was going to be a major player in the GotG cartoon so I'm guessing he will take Rich's place in their version if the event (because Loeb of course).
