She's more important as a vehicle to explore the history of the galaxy than as an edgemaster. Drama with her dad is kinda predictable. Zero problems with her exploring ancient force things as a consequence of her relationship with her dad. Luke doesn't seem to have any kind of knowledge of Yoda or the Jedi in ESB, and it's quite odd for Ahsoka to just up-and-abandon the Rebellion when things start looking hopeful, so I am going to go out on a limb and say no, I don't think Ahsoka even has the choice to return and meet Luke, assuming she is even alive.

Maybe just maybe, after Episode 6? But thanks to JJ, that leaves some sad implications.

I like Rebels Thrawn more than book Thrawn because his success and planning is actually set up and makes logical narrative sense instead of being a retard's perception of Sherlock Holmes' deductive skills as pure fucking magic. I liked the Thrawn Trilogy but Thrawn was a bullshit character who succeeded when he should have failed and failed where he should have otherwise succeeded. In Rebels he successfully and logically accounts for all variables except the supreme myopic suicidal idiocy of Konstantine and an all powerful Force entity making trouble. Even then he overcomes both obstacles.

Also Rebels Thrawn now looks more interesting with the slight facial skeletal structure modifications instead of just being a blue painted human.

Movies are great for entertainment, but if you want true worldbuilding and character development, you'll need something that wont be finished in 2 hours.

That said, the ESB soundtrack is pretty much my gold standard for Star Wars soundtracks if only for one single leitmotif. 'Han Solo and the Princess', in particular the versions used for 'The Rebel Fleet' and especially 'Clash of the Lightsabers'. There are two scenes which I disliked. First, that fucking tentacle rape scene. The fuck. And the hope speech. I realize that she was probably pulling that out of her ass, as a last ditch effort, and that made it make more sense then 'lol hope guys'. Both are meh scenes, and could be cut out of the film. Chronological is fine if you skip the ongoing ones and come back to them later.

The ongoings are these;

Sure thing. Also, I forgot about the books. The books are perfectly fine reading chronologically.

However I suggest starting with "Rise of the Empire". It's a collection that includes Tarkin/A New Dawn (the first two canon books released) along with three short stories that bridge the books together. They're pretty good reads, and give a good introduction into the Canon novels.

From there, you can (and IMO should) read the rest in chronological order.

machete is the worst possible order to watch it in. You go from the high of watching two of the best films in the series to watching Attack of the Clones, arguably the worst film in the series. ROTS is an improvement but definitely not the same quality as ANH/ESB, and then when you get back to the original trilogy you have high expectations of ROTJ because of the first 2 films in the trilogy as well as the fact that you'd probably be waiting to get back to the OT while watching 2/3 because of Empire's cliffhanger. But ROTJ is the weakest of the three, so it'd be even more of a disappointment.

Plus, if you're gonna skip TPM why not skip Attack of the Clones as well? Does anything happen in Attack of the Clones that you can't figure out 10 minutes into Revenge of the Sith?

Chronological order is shit-tier too since it ruins the "I am your father" reveal (even though everyone knows the scene) as well as making the continuity errors Lucas made in the Prequels much more obvious.

I mean, you can watch them in any order you want because there's nothing preventing you from doing so, but I've yet to see an argument against the release order being the best order to watch them.
