I miss when she was our drunk mommy in a gimp suit
1.) Writers keep forcing her to be in slice of life bullshit instead of letting her be a badass hard hitting sci-fi heroine.
2.) Artist keep removing all her femininity.
Outfit is fine but she needs to look like a FUCKING WOMAN see pic related.
>>91385585
Bendis got his hands on her.
>>91385585
Not about Carol per se, but it's the same idea.
>>91385719
I'm sorry, you said
>Look like a woman
But we determined you were trying to say
>Look like a bimbo
There hasn't been a single Captain Marvel or Ms. Marvel design that hasn't looked like a woman, a sexy one at that. Take your terrible taste elsewhere.
>>91385585
Removing what made her older fans like her, using her to push an agenda, and forcing her into the front cover of everything despite readers saying no are all pretty big factors for making her suck.
Also, making her look like a man was just a bad call.
>>91385809
That Brooks image didn't look like a bimbo.
Not talking about design, I am talking about how the artist draws her bodily features.
Anka and one of the specfic A-force artist make her hyper bony and flat chested. She looks like a completely different person then what has ever come before.
>>91385585
>If you want to read a remotely good story with her you have to go back 30 years to read Claremont.
>Her best writer is fucking Brian Reed, well-known for being one of the worst sci-fi writers out there.
>Her character never goes beyond "does shit, gets depressed". She never learns, she will just do more shit and get depressed and then do it again because Brian Reed's fans think this is somehow "character development", and not just shit-writting
>Pushed out of nowhere.
>Suddenly has fan-clubs in-universe.
>KSD's writing panders to tumblr and no one else.
>Is rewarded in-universe for being a dumb fascist while a much heroic hero became LITERALLY HITLER for doing actually good deeds.
>>91386391
A bland emotional wreck is what women look for in fictional icon. Go figure.
>>91385809
> that hasn't looked like a woman
Was getting blown the fuck out part of your plan you lying faggot?
>>91386555
Those artist need to put down the stick.
>>91386391
Out of all the characters Marvel could have pushed as their central heroine why was it Carol? Why not Storm or She-Hulk? Is it because she has Marvel in her hero name?
>>91386391
>>If you want to read a remotely good story with her you have to go back 30 years to read Claremont.
No pic related arc was good.
>>91385585
>>91386979
No because she has Captain in her name! Captain America is just too damn on the nose. We need a Captain for all peoples. get with it or go home. its 2017.
>>91387351
>>91385585
>We gonna keep pushing this female character!
>But we gonna keep giving her shit writers.
>>91385585
That what the character is. Marvel tryna make her top tier hero but in their pursuit the character goes back to her default walking trainwreck state.
>>91386979
Because Carol is a better character than either of those.
>>91388480
Why because they're women of colour you fckin racist?
>>91388992
Jen lost all her color, anon.
>>91385719
This
write her as a female GL type not as a lesbian tryhard leader wonderwoman
AEMH already had a good idea on what to do with her
>>91385585
Carol isn't bad, she's just written that way.
>>91385585
Not sure. She's alright when studied closely. Its probably marvels story lines getting shitier and shiter combined with audiences being attached to old styles. I miss the black outfit. Also whenever marvel brings someone up they suck so they can only do it by making others job it story wise and that also breeds resentment.
>>91388480
Storm may have gone downhill, but atleast she had a hill to fall from. Least I can say for Carol.
>>91386979
Don't they have to constantly renew her to keep her name from DC? Or am I thinking of another character.
>>91385585
Because they're trying to turn her into Wonder Woman without the 75 years of history and prestige.
>>91390074
I hated storm because of black panther. Panther is garbage. I like storm when he's not brought up.
>>91385585
I feel like enough people on this board read Nova to ask this: When Rich goes to see Carol in #8, do you think he'll lay into her like he did with Tony for CW1 or just throw compliments her way?
>>91390388
Well CW2 was Tony's fault and Carol and Rich will both be busy slaying ayys so they'll probably be buds.
>>91390373
They divorced years ago.
>>91390388
He's going to say he's so glad he's alive to see what Carol has become - the most beloved superhero to ever exist. Now he can die in peace.
>>91385585
Marvel advertises her like she has a top selling title when she sells worse than some C-listers. Marvel needs to embrace the fact that she is a cunt and make her into the Illuminating comics version.
>>91385585
Bendis.
>>91391310
I'd be OK with that as long as it means she finally sleeps with Jess.
>>91386555
hey mar-vell it's been a while
>>91386555
You know goddamn well that Squirrel Girl doesn't count.
>>91391310
>she sells worse than some C-listers
Because she is a D-lister
>>91386979
Movie rights.
>>91389720
EMH had best Jan, Hank, and Carol and it makes me sad that their comic counterparts are so shit by comparison.
>>91391310
I don't know who I'd trust to turn Carol into a horrifying yet compelling, and oddly sympathetic at times, character outside the Illuminating Comics guy.
Real talk though, I wonder why hasn't Bendis taken a crack at her solo title yet? He's comfortable writing her and putting his name on a heavily pushed product seems like the exact thing he'd do.
>>91392182
Modern Carol is basically EMH Carol though.
Her ANAD series was great.
>>91392305
>great
It was passable. Let's not go crazy.
>>91392305
Nope not even close
dont misinform
>>91385585
>>91386555
Someone got the picture of those panels where she was drawn as a male bodybuilder with ludicrously huge muscles?
>>91392305
Was this picture supposed to show how great her series was?
>>91386555
Jesusfuck and that artist CAN draw women, wow.
It looks like Steve got a sex change.
>>91386979
>Out of all the characters Marvel could have pushed as their central heroine why was it Carol? Why not Storm or She-Hulk?
Storm is tied up in the X-Men and She-Hulk is too tied to Hulk; Marvel doesn't have movie rights for either. Or for Sue Richards.
>Is it because she has Marvel in her hero name?
It's a big plus for them.
