>>91381207
There is a finite amount of power that she can absorb before being overwhelmed by it both mentally and physically. When she attempted to absorb Ares, she suffered internal bleeding. When she absorb the collective victims of an alien serial killer, her mind shutdown. When she absorb the powers of the Avengers and X-men, she only managed to bring forth a small percentage of that power and was driven mad. Basically a slightly stronger Hyperion despite the fact that she also absorbed Hulk, Wonder Man and Colossus.

it depends how you define finite, she just took wade's healing factor and that has shown to be probably best healing factor in marvel universe. Hell his healing factor is so strong he gave his daughter another version of the same thing.
>>
>>91382229
Analogies won't help you here. Intent is more important than some facile comparison of overpowered.

No seriously, it is. Try to remember the Speed Force wasn't even a thing until Wally, some 70-odd years into Flash comic books.

OPM is a joke not because of the degree of his ability, he's a joke because he's written tongue in cheek as commentary on genre. Flash is 100% earnest and as I said it was 70 years before he became a literal law of DCU physics.
>>
>>91382398
Endless dark holes would defeat most anyone.
Not likely they'd be able to summon up something to physically harm him, they don't do that against Superman, either.
>>
>>91382403
So she is just a poor man's Mister Immortal.
>>
>>91381207
Saitama doesn't have any exceptional superpower she can drain. His power comes from his workout regimen.

She may be able to tire him out, but there's so much raw energy inside of Saitama that she'd probably need to have sex with him (aka full-body skin-to-skin contact) for a week nonstop to get him tired. Granted, she wouldn't get tired herself since she'd be taking in immense amounts of energy.

The joke of the encounter would be that she doesn't find Saitama attractive at all, and would rather fuck Genos.
>>
>>91381207
In a well written story sure, but she would probably be in One Punch Man instead.
>>
>>91382319
The shockwaves from Saitama's punches alone can destroy huge areas. Either the pressure from it would kill him, or they would stalemate.

Flash was making pants out of speed and "vibrating his molecules through solid objects" and other patently cartoon physics shit long, LONG before Speedforce was coined.

He's a toon character who's toon powers are defined as "goes fast".
>>
>>91382444
>she is just a poor man's Mister Immortal
Mister Immortal is like Deadpool, his powerset is DEFINED as being unkillable, not a side effect of it.

Rogue is invulnerable but it's never been said she's immortal. I doubt she'd survive being beamed into a star (and I'm a huge fag for Rogue).
>>

So you don't read the books. Barry could never make his costume out of fast, only Wally did and that was AFTER gaining absolute control.

That's the joke, I think.
Dragonball Z characters and their many shonen knockoffs get flight and energy blasts and so much weird shit, and the "training" you see them doing is martial arts crap and basic strength training.

Even IN-UNIVERSE people have pointed out that his origins make no goddamn sense, though really "unpowered" humans who have fantastic physical abilities through training make up more then half of the 10 most powerful heroes in the setting.

Saitma's thing is that he's showing the logical extent of that theory and thus showing how fundamentally retarded it is; that somehow just by being determined and seriousfacs about it you can break the basic laws of physics.
>>91382934
Exactly.
Flash is the capiest cape comic that eve did cape, and his plethora of stories have since run through EVER stereotypical comic book plot line you could ever think of, and in several cases he was one of the earliest ones to do them.

Flash is just as nonsensical, only he's not a joke character because even in modern day he's silver age as fuck.

>>
>>91383245
Indeed. It's more the tone of the story itself. Flash is taking itself seriously even when there is NO WAY it could be taking itself seriously with all of it's goofy shit.
OPM is a punchline, literally.
It's like waiting for Bugs Bunny to get into a gunfight that ends with him getting headshot and his brains splattering all over the trees; it's not happening because that's not the genre of story. People just saw the re-drawn manga and got confused about the nature of the story and seemed to think it was meant to be anything other then silly, when in fact the hyper-detailed art and action are just used as yet another way to highlight how silly it all is.
>>
>>91383295

His powers aren't any more a joke than any Silver Age carry-over. His irreverent attitude towards classic heroism is "the joke", along with his bored indifference.

None of these things make his "whole comic a joke". The same way Deadpool teaming up withe the X-Men doesn't render it a "joke book."
>>

>>
>>91383666
You are really butthurt about this stuff for some reason I legitimately cannot grasp.
It's not a complicated idea; in his manga or animated adaption he always wins, and does so with a minimal amount of effort or even no effort at all.
It's deliberately silly. Every guy he fights has a shitload of leadup showing how powerful they were, then he beats them in a single hit or so.

The only thing that would change if it was Superman or something is that Superman or Flash or whoever would spend HOURS showing off how powerful they are instead of just getting into the fight and then instantly loose like always.

>>

>And now Green Lantern is drawing power from the "emotion" of Willpower channeled through a space creature, what's your point?

That that is a rule set up by the comic. It doesn't make sense in our world, but it makes sense in the world of the comic. Listen to what I am telling you: even within the context of the world of One Punch Man, Saitama's powers are considered completely nonsensical.

Seriously, he reveals his power here >>91382112 and the immediate reaction of everyone looking, which includes two high power beings, thinks it's a lie because there's no way it could ever work. One even refers to it as just "bog standard strength training" that "isn't even hard."

His powers are a joke.
>>
>>91383791
>Every guy he fights has a shitload of leadup showing how powerful they were, then he beats them in a single hit or so.
Yes, that's the conceit, that all of the proud and cocky heroes in his world are more or less unaware of just how godawfully he outclasses them in pure might. They constantly dismiss him because he looks harmless, whereas he's overwhelmingly strong, too strong in fact.

That hasn't been played for light comedy in the series (aside from the comedy shorts in the back), in quite a long while. Which is why I wondered how long you've followed the book.
>>
>>91381207

Rogue gains the knowledge, emotions, skills, experiences, and powers of people she touches.
Thing is, Saitama doesn't really know how to fight and that isn't the source of his abilities; his abilities source is "exercise" and Rogue doesn't get the benefits of exercise another person has done, just their skills and knowledge.
And powers, if applicable.
>>
Not if OPM wears a glove.
>>
>>91385602
You're leaving out the crucial bit, anon.

>Rogue can absorb the powers, energies, memories, knowledge, talents, personality and physical abilities (whether superhuman or not) of another human being (or members of some sentient alien races) through physical contact of her skin with the skin of the other person. She is not limited to absorbing superhuman abilities: for example, she has absorbed the strength, agility, and sharp reflexes of an enhanced human.

In other words it doesn't matter if his physical abilities are through super soldier serum, mutation, or, yes, exercise and plenty of it. More than that she drains the stamina from those she touches which is why her ability is potential lethal.

Rogue gains whatever power another person has regardless of whether you could consider it a "superpower" or not. This wouldn't be any different to her than draining an olympic athlete and gaining their physical prowess. She slaps flesh with Usain Bolt and she gains the power to Run Forest Run. She's also been able to render She-Hulk instantly unconscious.

She's kind of bullshit like that. Of course if he can punch her out before she has time to drain him, there you go. You can still have your bald meme god.

Fights in OPM are fairly normal when OPM himself isn't there.

This is something important to note
Saitama is a joke character in a serious world and while there's a lot of comedy you still have your serious moments of heroism
Mumen Rider is a million times more inspirational than say Superman because he's just a normal guy on a bicycle riding towards stuff he knows can kill him trying to save people because it's the right thing to do
>>
I figured /co/ would like Mumen Rider. Hell, he embodies what /co/ likes in American superheroes.

>Mumen Rider

Mumen Rider is the fucking best. Hes not even a 'badass normal' in that he isn't a ninja or something. He is just a normal guy on a bike who rescues balloons from trees for kids when he isn't fighting evil.
