My first reaction to the idea of being given superpowers is "Heck yeah, I'll totally be a hero and fight for justice!". However, I think that sort of gung-ho attitude could just cause problems. The life of a hero is a hard one. One mistake could cost the life of an innocent. That is a heavy responsibility and I don't know if I could honestly handle it.

I don't think I'd sign up for superpowers, but I would still try to do the right thing and help people if they were thrust upon me. I'd definitely maintain a secret identity, as it would be helpful for fighting crime. I'd have a no-kill policy, as I'm not out to play God. I wouldn't work against the government but I also don't have any intention of becoming a weapon for the military, so I guess I'd be a vigilante.

Honestly, one of the first things I'd do with my powers is construct a device that could tap into and harness "Pure Energy" or "Ether", meaning the source of all existence and creation, and I'd hook the machine up to one of my best friends (and also the most heroic guy I know), and turn it on, unleashing a massive global or universal scale blast of pure source ethereal energy everywhere. The Blast would, first things first, give my friend the power of that energy, and also it would unleash or uncover the secrets of the universe and all the hidden abilities and entities that the majority of the population isn't aware of. Basically, I'd "bring back the magic" that has been lost for eons. Thus, mythological creatures and the hidden powers that we all possess would be revealed. So now everyone has access to super powers and stuff.
The next step of my "mission" would be teaming up with my friends to fight evil as a superhero team, while also hunting down the 'source' of all evil, and then I'd fight it and try to destroy it. What I'd really try to do, though, is turn that pure primordial evil into another pure benevolent force and add it to the other source of good, thus creating a pure whole complete force of good throughout all of existence. Thus, all the evil that lives within the hearts of man would be completely erradicated, through the new harmonic balance no longer requiring evil to exist.
After that, I'd just do whatever the heck I want, living a life of freedom, unbound by anything.

I never really saw the appeal of being a "superhero"- but I'd fucking love to be some super competent Fu-Manchu/James Bondian arch-villain.

With enough power to actually be a thread to governernments / the Army I would probably take over and establish myself as the absolute rule, becaus I think I can handle things better then they are right now. This would probably run for about 4 to 6 months until I realise I am way over my head an that all that shit about beeing fair to all and whatnot is way more complicated than I thoght I could handle. Would try to go on full damage controll and spiral in an ongoing hole of me taking ever more extreme meassures to keep people in line with my plans, while creating more ressistance against caging people with laws.
