Why is the Lion King getting a live action adaption?
>>91375724
Why is it being called live action and not just CGI? Are there even any humans in this rendition? Or are all the animals taking human forms?
>>91375724
Because this live action shit prints money
>>91375724
The CGI in The Jungle Book was great and the stampede scene reminded me a lot of The Lion King. It'll never replace the original, but I'm excited anyway.
>>91375724
Because the Jungle Book made A BILLION DOLLARS.
Beauty and the Beast made crazy good money too.
>>91375780
It'll probably just be trained animals with CGI mouths.
>>91375807
I know, but Disney could make something original and print money, like it used to do.
Because Disney is creatively bankrupt.

>Why is it being called live action
It's probably partly because all these other remakes from Disney have been live action, but it's also because it's technically not just pure CG, since I believe they're using filmed footage for some/most backgrounds.

The animals were fully CGI in The Jungle Book, so I don't see them switching to real lions.
>I believe they're using filmed footage for some/most backgrounds
I heard that every single thing in the movie was CGI except for Mowgli and a few things he had to directly interact with (twigs and ropes and stuff). But I don't have a source on me at the moment so you might be right.

you could have just put A BILLION DOLLARS. again

Meant to reply to >>91375914 also.
>>91375895
They've pretty much never had an original idea. Virtually every major movie was based off some old fairy tale or book.
>>91376174
true but they mostly weren't remakes
>>91375724
Because normies think live action >>> animation.
Plus, live action with not TOO much FX costs less money.
Reminder.
>>91375724
because Disney loves taking risks

I joked about this in a previous thread, but what if they revealed it to be a bunch of people in costumes like the Broadway show?
Jungle Book was really good. If that's what we can expect, I guess I'm excited.
Wasn't the tiger in Life of Pi fully CGI?
>>91375724
Is this actually in Lion King or something?
>>91376824
No joke that would be awesome, but it would cut into the profits of the broadway show.
>>91376837
yes
>>91375724
Because this is the latest Disney fade.
>>91376837
>hasnt watched lion king
are you kiddng me
>>91375724
>>91375886
why does shit make so much money?
>>91376816
This was a risk.
These remakes are made with the purpose of printing money.
>>91377773
In my honest opinion, they aren't missing much and the sequel is better.
>>91378380
>These remakes are made with the purpose of printing money.
the biggest risk of all
>>91378523
That makes no sense.
