She was originally going to be Penny from City of Thieves. Because Penny didn't quite fit the role they needed, they made up Bandit Princess instead. Considering that, I'm guessing she was just as a plot device for that episode and nothing more.

she was a meta-level shiptease, because Finn is attracted to Evil characters. eg. Lawful Evil PB / Neutral Evil FP, Chaotic Evil BP would complete the trifecta. if the show were going to keep running indefinitely she would have eventually come back, gotten her moment with Finn, and then been disposed just like FP/PB.

because the show is ending she's probably reduced to being a one-off, or else will be part of Ferns story (which could be how they fulfill her created purpose as shipbait, through Fern instead of Finn).

The show has had many one off characters, and no she didn't kill Finn Sword and Finn Sword was never dead. Finn Sword becoming damaged was Finn's fault. I doubt her coming back, but honestly I'd rather have them use the time we have left more thoughtfully. She could always make a cameo appearance but not an episode where she is a major character.
