What's /co/'s opinion on Mother Panic?

I like that's it's actually violent
It's been good so far. I like the main villain and the art

I have no idea what is happening most of the time.
New art gives it a totally different tone than the writing
It's not the strongest Young Animal title, but it's still pretty good. I like Violet's costume.

is dat sum muhfuggin JOJO referance?
I like the odd man back up

The last backup seemed to bring in Mr. A, so with Shade currently being published (in some form), Young Animal is really using the Ditko gallery

And they're about to have a big Kirby tribute with the Bug ongoing.
I like the big gauntlets on the costume. I'm interested to see if she shows up in Shade next issue

It is pretty weird that DC seems to be putting more effort into celebrating Kirby than Marvel is. Marvel seems to have a set of variants, and Monsters Unleashed. DC has the Kamandi Challenge, Bug!, and the Fourth World gigantic Omnibus later this year

Agreed, the art for the first few issues was great and fitted the writing. Now the art feels like it's for a completely different comic.

Marvel had a lot of legal stuff to sort out with the Kirby estate.
By comparison, you don't see DC fellating Siegel and Shuster either.

I like it a lot, more than I thought I would. It's got a satisfying amount of violence and some cool character psychology focused storytelling. And the art in the first three issues was some of the best DC has put out recently.

Well, the current artist only has one more issue for now and then John Paul Leo will come on for a few issues. They're cycling every three or so issues.
It's an entertaining title, one that's actually managed to stay on my pull list. I may wonder what the hell is going on at times but honestly it kinda adds to the psychological element.
