Oh god, i don't know if the show "ended" but I do know the manga did.

What I can remember when I spent a summer reading it all years ago, and like 10 minutes on the wiki:
After they finally assemble the jewel, Naraku comes by and starts destroying the land in some giant spider or something. Inuyasha and Naraku fight, Kagome makes a wish on the jewel for it to disappear. This puts Kagome back in her present time, seals the well. But she eventually unseals it and hooks back up with Inuyasha.

That's the thing. Inuyasha has the best credit sequences of all anime,regardless of how repetitive it might be otherwise. So it may as well get you to believe that somehow it really is something with hidden depth despite everything else flawed about it because of that.
