It's pretty funny. It has some really nice self awareness & the banter between Sonic's friends is pretty good.

And while it's not my favorite version of her, Boom Amy is pretty good.

The entire Sonic Boom franchise is garbage. The only good thing that has happened to Sonic in over 10 years is the Sonic Mania announcement. Sonic Colours and Lost World are decent, everything else is garbage. The Sonic Boom cartoon is just as bad.

The fact that its best humor is self-referential (and Eggman's lines) should go quite a way to pointing out its problems. It's a Sonic cartoon which is good due to making fun of Sonic cartoons. Not exactly a stellar way of highlighting the overall quality of the Sonic franchise.

Nah, best was the temple episode from a few weeks back. Every joke was a winner.

I don't see why it gets praised so much. It isn't bad, but it seems people just see something Sonic Boom related that isn't a total travesty after the Wii U game and the disparity tricks them into thinking it's some marvel. Maybe the fact that Sonic fans haven't really had anything else to do for the last little while helps, too.

But I guess if we're comparing it other currently running cartoons, the bar for humour isn't all that high right now, so it might be true. And it's nice to see Sonic save a bit of his reputation from this plane crash of a spinoff franchise.
