It wasn't excelent or anything, the show was a heavily watered down version of what the creator wanted which turned into some strange version of the Simpsons where the jokes didn't work that well because of the limits they had.

I liked the art style myself, it was silly but it worked better in the books since they were more over-the-top.

I think the show was a lot funnier than the comics mainly because it was so fleshed out, and the performances absolutely sold it. the fact that they had randy and jason sklar voicing the twins instead of the usual 'pay one guy to voice both' mean they could have rapidfire banter with each other that sounded totally natural.
yeah it was less dark, but it would have been depressing if that kind of darkness lasted for 22 minutes instead of one or two panels.
