It really isn't that hard. The Freelancers are a group that companies hire on the downlow to forcibly devalue property and open them up for development. Fear chick moves in and uses her powers to amp people up to cause residents to start fighting and wanting to leave. The earthbender messes with foundations and underground utilities, causing sinkholes and cracking streets. If the buildings are empty the amazon and pyro simply fuck them up. The invincible chick is a little hard to work in, but you could use her to stage "accidents" for lawsuits or put her in a costume and have her start fucking with local crime elements until everything is destabilized.

How can a comic book be this retarded? This is stupider than a Saturday morning cartoon villain's plot. First of all, copyright doesn't work like that. You can't just trademark something that's in the public domain like that. Then again, the writer has repeatedly shown they have absolutely no idea how any sort of law works so this is no surprise. Second, what's stopping the Champions from simply saying they have no involvement in this? All they have to do is explain the situation and pretty much all their problems are solved.
