Well looks like he'll have a presence in Champions next issue (if the cover doesn't lie) and as of now I really don't want Rich guest starring in a horribly written comic acting widly out of character (which I fear he might do if he's in Champions, I don't know how much Waid cares for him).

Personally if he can join the Ultimates that would be great, it's the only team where they face big enough power house threats for him and has members that are crazy strong.

I think with the Cancerverse stuff it makes sense why he doesn't, we know he was avoiding people because of his condition, Gamora even started suspecting something was up with him so that's why he's being a loner.

But yeah for something as big as Secret Empire he should at least be helping with the Chitauri shit, unless he's in the Cancerverse while that's happening.

We know he's going to be with YASSS Queen in issue #8 so who knows.

That said if any other writer wants him in their comic they'll probably get him, only reason he was in SA was because Bru wanted him there but he wasted him on that shitty Serpent Crown arc, disregarded that not just anyone could be Nova Prime and handle all of the Nova force (but Cap did), and then before he could do anything significant with him DnA took him away (or at least that's what he said).

It also doesn't help that the Nova editor is not the Marvel Cosmic editor, so if they do a self contained Cosmic Event both the Nova and the Cosmic Marvel Editor would have to work together I guess.

I'm going to keep my expectations as low as possible and think of the worst things they can do. Perhaps he comes back broken as an evil calamari monster. Sam captures him and brings Rich to Carol who talks to Worldmind, decides to go full retard and try to use the Cancerverse for ultimate power. Sam is forced to help Rich commit suicide again and it would be like the arc never happened. Also, Sam gets cucked when he gets back from space because his girlfriend turned out to be a slut.

I'm gonna be honest. This is my first time reading Nova sans his appearance in the new New Warriors from the Now Era. I still heavily like this book but what else do you guys recommend to read?

Conquest is definitely cool, but if you're just reading Nova, it's optional. Rich doesn't show up until the very end.
All he does is trade blows with Ultron/Warlock very briefly, and then fights the rest of the robots off panel while Phyla learns the value friendship

I don't think it's a problem of the narrative itself so much as a symptom of writers copying what came before instead of analyzing and understanding the context of what they are copying.
Spider-man kept his identity secret for fairly decent reasons where you could at least see his logic combined with his immaturity making him more worried about the consequences. It even gave us great moments when Aunt May finally did learn of his secret identity. The problem was that it took so long to get there and that it was shoved back into the box.

Hi, someone who used to read the Richard Rider Nova back when he tore Annihilus' guts out.

Is this book anything like the old one?

It's great and well worth reading (and buying, because the sales are horrible and it needs the support) for any Nova fan, if that's what you're asking. If you're asking "is it about Richard Rider trying to rebuild the Nova Corps while getting passed around from event to event" then no. It's more character driven than the DnA run, and the book is shared with Sam Alexander so only half the focus is on Rich.

You could check out the ongoings about Sam's tenure as Nova if you're not familiar with the character, but everything you need to know about him gets recapped pretty early on so it's not mandatory. If you do want to check out some of his books, I'd recommend Duggan's run from vol. 5 of Nova (Marvel NOW-era).

As for Rich, there were some retcons that happened to the end of Thanos Imperative that you should be aware of:
