The 3-D is quite good actually by comparison to other things using the art style / method in my opinion.


As to the stupid love thing, trust me, we all agree that the whole them not noticing thing is annoying / funny. However it is rationalised away with the same reasoning as Superman's glasses.

As to their actual romantic interactions, they are a mix between subtle things and actual vocal interactions that establish it rather well. Not to mention their dynamic (almost always serious and almost always joking) being strengthened by it.


Now as to your point about the story being simple, that I must disagree on.

Rather the problem is that we haven't really been given anything beyond a glimpse, all we know is that superheros have existed for thousands of years. This is because they plan on making a shit ton more of this series and more, so they are keeping a large amount in reserve.


As to the whole "evil things" (called akuma's by the way, butterflies / moths endowed with magical power by Hawkmoth (using the English dubs name because god help me remembering anything else)) plot point, I would explain my own theories on this but I don't want to do so as I would have to spoil some things but if you ask I will.


The real reason for the hype? Ignoring the constant ships (when there are technically 4 ships between 2 characters you know you have a problem...all of the ships are good), the sex appeal, the catchy-as-fuck theme song, the decent / good animation style, the humour (jokes are for multiple age groups, primarily teenagers) and the interesting universe?

Fuck if I know, I am addicted to these fine French(-and Korean-)men's work. The fan content also helps, so much cute and funny shit.


Still, like all things in life, you might not like it and that is fine but there are some things people like for few if any objective reasons objective reasons.

One other possible reason no one realises Marinette and Adrien are Ladybug and Cat Noir is, like Clark Kent, they act very different from their superhero counterparts, though not sure if they're doing it intentionally.

On a related note, I can't imagine Alya acting much different from her usual self when in superhero form unless she intentionally acts different.

Any chance they're fix/tweak the animation speed for s2? I can get through it, but it's really jarring, I don't understand why almost every CGI show has to have such unnatural movement speeds.

Still can't watch the current ninja turtles show, just the image of them moving drives me nuts.

Because neither the cat nor the ladybug's power is the creation of powered people apart from their wielders. Nooroo's power is worthless to someone already possessing power, and I doubt Tikki or Plagg would subordinate themselves to a lesser-powered Miraculous.
