The first film is a very fun introduction movie.
The second film is garbage, but was written during the writers' strike.
The third film has some of the best moments in the franchise, but has a lot of crap too.
The fourth film is a masterpiece of explosions and excess.

3 was a perfect drop off point but dumbass me had to go see 4 and now I'm in too deep. Still hyped for 5 though.
I liked 2 a lot actually

1 is probably objectively the best "film".
2 is pretty lousy, but a nice "so bad its good" time waster.
3 and 4 aren't good movies, but good Transformers stories. And 4 tried to cram two movies' worth of plot into one.
5 looks awesome so far.

2 was amusing because they only had a 1/3 of a script and said "fuck it, lets do this."

How many more of these awful movies am I gonna have to sit through before I see some fucking Unicron?

Well to be fair AoU was more complete than BvS, just really really disappointing.

BvS's problem is too much Batman, not enough Superman + jarring additions to promoting the JL and WW.

What I really liked about DOTM despite its flaws is that compared to the other movies, it really had a lot of robot dialogue, and that the final kill blow wasn't helped by or hindered by any humans hogging the screen. Sam was somewhere destroying the master pillar and Optimus took two generals head on (no pun intended) single highhandedly, literally (though Sentinel was somewhat already fired on by a rocket launcher, with just a tumble).

AoE would've been good too if they had it under...what, an hour-fourty five and saved Galvatron for the next movie, focusing on Lockdown and the Creators previewing.
