Well when she summons her palanquin she just "lifts her hand" and the thing flies over. Combined with the fact that White Diamond's corruption-bomb seemed to stem directly from her body somehow (IE. it wasn't just a weapon, but was "damage from a diamond") I think it's pretty plausible that diamonds do have some kind of psychic presence at this point.
