It's pretty okay. Starts off as "Violence is a sex analogue" the anime, and manages to develop beyond that. Kind of discards mostly everything that ties it to the Witchblade franchise save for the titular Witchblade, which is a bit of a mark against it. Character interactions, especially between Rihoko and anyone else is top notch though. Might've stood better on its own if it didn't use the Witchblade name though, I think.

Suffering.

>titular
Hehehehehheheh

Madhouse had like 6 chances to make something decent.
They can't.

But the X-Men series, Rise of Technovore & the Punisher/Widow team up were good.
The Wolverine series was just ok.

I enjoyed the anime Witchblade but it definitely wasn't as good as the comics, especially the Marz, Sejic stuff.
the live action tv show was pretty good too.

I don't really think it's fair to say it's bad as an adaptation, because Witchblade is a essentially a legacy deal like Green Lantern so this was just "here's someone else that got it at some point in the timeline".
Which is probably one of the better ways to go about a licensed anime. Like, imagine Ghost Rider: Tokyo Drift
> Madhouse won't do a Highlander the search for vengeance style Thor movie...
FML!

>X-Men series.
>good

Manlet
>>91273445
but you are forgetting the biggest reason why the anime was good. That titty monster that they made Storm into
>>91274082
Storm has always been a titty monster
