Transformers land on Earth and take on their disguises.

After their cover is blown - likely by the Decepticons - everyone is mildly concerned that the humans aren't concerned beyond the immediate need to evacuate. After a point, the Crystal Gems start to intervene, though they'll only make a difference in certain circumstances given the size differences.... at least until they pull out the fusion card.

Then Megatron will probably see potential in the gems as slaves and/or power batteries, and may probably ditch the planet to go bother the rest of the Diamond Authority's territories. Autobots would probably stay and help fight against Homeworld's forces when they start kidnapping humans.
