-the unmaker fully upgraded is stronger than a BFG and can take down a cyberdemon in less than 5 hits

It wouldn't be particularly accurate nor even very powerful - despite being a larger handgun caliber it uses a golden bullet, which is much denser than lead and therefore heavier (almost twice as heavy, in fact) which combined with the probably very inaccurate weapon means it's not just going to miss side to side, it's going to drop quickly. Basically if you wanted to hit a barn door with that gaudy piece of shit you'd have to stand right next to it on a stepladder.

It's a blocking/flow problem.

He has to face the audience - that's a basic rule of theater and applies to tv too, it helps people identify not only who they're looking at but follow what's going on. Flow is just about keeping things moving - it's more dynamic if someone enters from the left because western conventions in reading and performance, whereas if you wanted to slow the scene down you might have the sitting guy on the left instead. It's just how it works.

I must have been the only person to use the Soul Cube in Doom 3. Once I got the cube, I abused the shit out of it. It one shots all the big demons and fills up your life bar completely.

Perfect for the Sarge Boss fight where it has the BFG.

I unload a full round of my Chain Gun into the fucker, and finish him off with the Cube. Works every time and I beat the fucker in under 5 seconds.

It was in-universe supposed to be assembled from those pieces, to conceal the fact that it was a gun (this being the era before routine sniffer dogs at airports).

Ian Fleming was many things, and occasionally one of them was a smart man, and he did know guns - but he was first and foremost a creator of fictions, even before he was a published writer. He knew the value of the idea outweighed the practical consideration of it, and there were to be fair plenty of outlandish weapons created for assassination purposes (and still are, most likely).
