By making Wanda responsible for "No more mutants" Marvel has forever cemented her ties to the X-Men comics.
For a while there (in the going-bankrupt years) it was almost as if Wanda and Quicksilver never had any connection to the X-Men franchise at all. Quickie was more an Inhumans character by marriage than anything else and the 'Witch was synonymous with the Avengers.
At one point an Avenger writer even forgot she was a mutant and wrote her as an actual fucking witch. Remember that one?
That's how far away from the X-franchise she was.
They even killed off Magneto, severing all links to that backstory once and for all.
Those ties were pretty fucking severed right before the Scarlet Witch went nutzo and started wishing for the world. They even brought Magneto back for that story.
Now, Daddy's back, Wanda was a founding member of that "unity" team, X-Men books can't stop mentioning her. Everyone and their missing mystic mother knows that she has a connection to mutants.
The comic that called her heritage into question again, that was a book connected to the X-franchise. Even in disavowing it there's another implicit connection made.

Wanda was out. This whole magic wordplay genocide has dragged her back in.
