Girl clothes more often than not are designed to fit around the curves, so even if they had pockets it would be really uncomfortable. Some girl jeans have faux pockets for design, some have pockets the depth of half your palm so if you stuck your phone in, half of your phone would be sticking out. Women tend to bring handbags around anyway so I can see why their clothes are designed that way.
Guy pockets are always huge. I can keep my belongings in snugly without them pressing too tightly against my thighs. Guy pants also always have tons of functional pockets.
