Chooks isn't a word. It's something made up by marketing people to trademark a TV show. It has no history behind it.
But it sounds so fucking racist.
>>91228738
I remember seeing commercials for that
>>91228828
The appearances don't help. They don't like like chickens, they look like a Newgrounds animator's attempt at depicting racial stereotypes on french onions.

I had pretty much every VHS. Including the Easter Special.
The black kid was basically Dick Grayson, which was funny.

>The Wallace and Gromit people
WTF?!
>>91227642
I remember this because I got out of going to church for like a month because I got up early on Sundays to watch it. Good enough for my spiritual education as far as my parents were concerned. I was pretty sad when they ran out of episodes. There was also this weird live action TV show they aired in that slot where these modern day kids kept summoning biblical characters to the present day to learn important life lessons. Mostly it worked out fine until this two parter where they summoned Paul back when he was still Saul, or pre-Damascus Paul/Golden Age Paul. Then he ran off and tried to do evil things until God blinded the shit out of him and they had this big confessional scene in the next episode when he went in all blind as Punished Paul and asked the congregation to forgive the girl character who had done something bad. I think that was the series finale.

Protectors of Universe is a Korean gundam/mazinger knock off poorly dubbed into english by voice actors that sound like voices you would hear in a 70s kung fu movie. in the mid 2000s wallmart had these dollar dvds and the dvd company released it and some other shitty anime knock offs from south korea, unfortunatly the only other one I got, besides protectors of universe, is Raiders of Galaxy which has worse animation. I bought a bunch of those dollar dvds when they were around including Omega cop (which has Adam West), some crappy obscure kung fu movies and Lazerhawk which was a straight to video alien movie with Mark Hamil
Does anybody else remember The wind in the willows?
There either is a cartoon movie of it from 80s or 90s or i had a dream about its existance.

Variety made note that the lead character of Rucio has an intentional resemblance to the character of Donkey from the Shrek series, with its original theatrical poster proclaiming "From the producers who saw Shrek". They noted that, while the physical resemblance was imported "almost wholesale",[19] the character lacked the same wit as its inspiration. They wrote that the film was "a lively but clumsy comic retelling of the Cervantes classic" with a "humdrum" script.[19] Ahora noted the same resemblance, writing that it was a blatant imitation done in order to take advantage of the existing commercial fanbase established by DreamWorks for the Shrek films.[20] NonSoloCinema wrote that while the animation is well-made, the figures resemble characters from Pixar's early days and has obvious similarities to some of the stars of Shrek by DreamWorks.[4] DVD Verdict offered that in order to market the film to a pre-teen audience, Rucio looks "suspiciously" like Donkey from the Shrek movies."[21] Film Up wrote "The film (which in turn has inspired a video game of the same name), has the merit, in part, to be able to convince us and involve us, but sometimes, creativity and commitment, may not be enough, because the quality more beautiful, even if not always for everyone."[22]

The format was either the gang has a problem because he was at the loo or something and he comes in late and fixes everything or him hyping the fight ahead and then resolving everything.

The zombie movie they did was pretty good.
Kinda stretching the definition of cartoon, but I remember watching Honeybee Hutch as a kid. It was an anime from the 70s that was translated and brought over here to Europe and later to the US in the 90s. It was about a bee who loses his mother so he searches for her and befriends other insects along the way. Despite being a kids show, I remember it being quite brutal, sadistic and mean spirited (actually mean spirited, not Mr. Enter mean spirited). A lot of characters died in this show for no real reason. One episode that's permanently etched into my brain, was the one where Hutch befriends a female caterpillar. He defends her for various bugs out to eat her and eventually when she has to undergo metamorphosis into a butterfly she doesn't have enough silk to spin a proper cocoon and in order to not die Hutch spends the entire winter starving and huddling with the cocoon to keep it warm and guard it. It ended happily, but damn it was dark.
Shame the show is basically lost media, since no English episodes exist online. Only episodes I could find were in Dutch and Indonesian and there were far from all them. I think if you search some shady sites and torrents you can find some Japanese raws, but nothing in English. Which is a huge shame, since I wanted to rewatch now as an adult.

I liked it too and the fact it was dark is one of the main reasons I wanna see it again. As for an ending, I don't remember any ending either. I think it's one of those limbo shows that just ends. So, Hutch is doomed to wander forever in search of his mother. Surprisingly fitting for this show.

French girl was cute. This show was at the height of the "flash animation for cartoons" era from almost a decade ago. That's why it looks like it belongs on newgrounds.
>>91251482
Yeeah... It was a decent show and it was the Flapjack of its day, in the sense that a lot of creators who would go on to make their own shows worked on it. Also they brought John K. to ''spice up'' the little red riding hood episodes, so you can somewhat indirectly blame him for deviantart going ape shit with the witch character.

Welcome to 90s dubbing in Eastern Europe. If you're lucky you got 3-4 voice actors, if you weren't you got one monotonous guy who voices everyone, including the women, who would sometimes be out of sync from what was going on. To have a dubbed intro and to not hear quiet English from beneath the local dub was a luxury. Those were the days.

I used to fucking LOVE the movie that came out of this show. The main character went to space and picked up a brother and a sister from an old lady who ran like an incubation ship. It was so interesting to me because she like, grew children in these little window sills that looked surprisingly comfy. The fact that she just picked up two kids, gave to the main character's family, and said they were brother and sister with them out of all the babies in the room was weird to me.

Initially the cartoon's producers offered her a pretty derisory sum, pointing out that they technically didn't need her permission to make the show and that they'd do it whether she endorsed it or not.
>As a result, Nancy asked Chuck Jones for his advice on the matter; he told her that under the circumstances Tex would want his family to be financially secure more than anything else, and helped her negotiate a much more reasonable settlement.

Terrible film, a cancer on the Mr. Magoo brand and the end result of cheap Mexican labor.
The only reason it got aired on Disney XD was because the English dub starred those Sprouse twins from that stupid kidcom.

I don't entirely regret watching this show. I regret that they made a Live Action show instead of continuing the already existing thing, though; that was an even bigger trainwreck.
>>91259808
Those three did not handle their post fame life well
>>91259584
So what did it for you, the sexy bee lady, Morocco Mole being nearly drowned in sticky honey, or the magic hypno-love potion?
or perhaps it was when she whipped out her big blackstinger
Obscure, but I'm sure it went over big in frog country.
>>91250323
Holy fuck my baby sister would watch this show.
In fact during those years the TV was pretty much constantly tuned into PB&J Otter, Koala Brothers, Stanley, etc.
It was dubbed in English first, then given a release in France.

>Stanley
>PB&J Otter
Tell your sister she's my nigger.
EVERYBODY got a cartoon in the 90's.
>>91250323
I recognize this
You're gonna have to get older than that to stump me. I remember Eureeka's Castle and Gullah Gullah Island.
>>91262639
And this.
I went to Catholic school when I was a kid. They sometimes showed cartoons. One of them had these teenagers in modern time exploring this ruin, then they fell into a sand pit and were then transported back in time to when Jesus was alive. Did anybody else watch something like that? I'd really like to know what it was called.

>Eureeka's Castle
GOD DAMN talk about nostalgia
Anyone remember the Get Along Gang?
Watched this late one night when I was little. Had a sugary diabetes taste in my mouth when I woke up and thought it was a fever dream
>>91262721
Eureeka's Castle was fuckin awesome, I remember pic related used to come on around the same time too
>>91262831
This one looks familiar.
>>91262862
This one doesn't.
>>91229626
I'll never understand Don Bluth's obsession with kids with a lisp.
Not a cartoon but does any remember the "Sand Fairy"?
I remember thinking it was a fever dream for the longest time until I'd come across the near destroyed VHS sleeve one day

Get on my level.
>>91227642
do you have friends in high places?
(it was a line from the episode with acrobats)
>>91262936
HOLY SHIT. Anon you just activated some deep memory I'd thought I'd forgotten.
>>91262970
I own a copy of this still, a VHS buried in a box in the garage. I remember watching it several times when I was very, very young.
This movie was retarded looking back but actually scared me when I first saw it cause of the poison gas
>>91262936
oh snap I remember renting this from the rental place in the grocery store back when I was like 5 or 6 and watching it on a bigass projector my dad had brought home from work. only thing I recall is the trolls or goblins or whatever hated music.
Up until a few days ago I would have said this but then I saw a long thread on here about it and apparently it's still pretty popular
>>91259883
I was in a Church of the Nazarene youth group, too, Anon. You ain't alone.

This and Reluctant Werewolf are common favorites among Scooby Doo films. The Boo Brothers is mentioned less often, I think.
That said, a lot of Scooby Doo films are terrible, while this one's actually enjoyable. It tends to rear its head around Halloween every year.
In Canada, we have a network called Teletoon that runs animation all day. Back when it launched the channel was required to run content not just for kids, but for everyone. Before "everyone" became synonymous with kids and stoner comedies/Adult Swim imports, they used to program a bunch of European shows. One of the series of shorts they'd run was called Lolita, about a busty red head that blew me away as a little kid watching late one night
>Lolita, a young fine impish girl, evolves in an every day-life background. In spite of herself, her charms provoke strange or even surrealistic reactions in people and objects. Lolita is a realistic cartoon character incrusted on inside and outside life-like scenery.

Parents complained about this and the late night anime Teletoon was running. Now the channel is basically a lamer clone of Cartoon Network.

It's French. No surprise there.

MTV's first original cartoon, and it doesn't get enough love here.

This one only aired on MTV Europe. Doesn't get any more obscure than that.

>>91263688
Neato. Too bad there's still 4 episodes left, but it's better than nothing.
I wonder what other obscure Euroshit Teletoon aired around that time? Anybody?

This was an adequate thread. Everybody, give yourselves a round of applause.
It certainly did it well, but the fact this cartoon actually dealt with growing old and dying was a mindfuck when I saw it first.
>>91229195
The best and smartest cartoon ever made. Many other cartoons tend to be western propaganda.
>>91243534
Hoo boy, they used to show these at my School when i was on first and second class.
Nowadays i am as anti-nature as i can be.
>>91250764
I always got a quasi incestuous vibe when watching this show.
