I believe my initial theory as to why Mendele wanted the bones was to check if they were divine or not, for SCIENCE. But her using the remains in her research to "perfect" Debra is more logical.

I am also curious about the political implications. I remember that Nick had notes about the hereditary nature of the crown possibly being discussed in a future chapter.

Gwen's parents don't seem particularly opposed to her relationship with a barbarian. But political marriages did play a major role in Hilla's History.

Well he is all about cooking and eating all kinds of new things. Constantly finding new experiences and indulging yourself with what you enjoy are definitive Slaneeshi traits.

As for Astridr she is supposed to be all about using games of chance to see if she has a gods favor and constantly changes worship when one doesn't turn out good so she could be aligned to anyone.

But Tzeentch seems like the most logical one, atleast to me.
