I'd think pandering to tumblr is the reason why it'd be cancelled if pic is any indication. Too many girls watching makes toy execs think the ad WHICH IS CLEARLY THE ONLY REASON THE SHOW EXISTS AMIRITE is pandering to the wrong audience, and toys are still heavily divided by gender. The only reason PPG 2016 gets away with pandering to tumblr is cuz it's already a girl's show.

This. I hated Scooby-Doo because it was always fucking on. I'm convinced it's lasted 40 years from overexposure alone. They REFUSE to let it die. I can't believe something so mediocre can last THAT long. Yeah, there's good Scooby Doo stuff (OP's pic and Zombie Island) but other than those two the franchise is just so fucking bland like the majority of HB's catalog.

The real reason is that it premiered the same day as Adventure Time. The audience for it just didn't exist yet. Had it aired a couple of years later, it could have grabbed a big chunk of the crowd that latched onto Gravity Falls.
