It's harder to do new characters on their own nowadays. People complain about her being thrown everywhere but all the pushing is the only reason she has lasted as long as she has. Even in the first volume she got a ton of press for that first muslim hero thing and being a legacy. Sure her book was decent but she got a crowd around her well before comic came out. Had that not happened she would likely have been done in less than 12 issues like most new characters. Kamala was a flavor of the month that was declining towards the end of her run and Marvel tried to offset that by throwing her in the Avengers and giving her at least a small role in every event. People try to blame this but her 2nd volume was already selling worse than the first before this all played out. None of her trades sell anywhere near as well as No Normal. Kamala's popularity is a myth. She never improved past her initial success, She wasn't even the best selling legacy. She was a flash in the pan whose quality went down in a desperate attempt to hold on to momentary success.
