OP here, let's jumpstart this thread.
I've been thinking a lot recently about how entertainment works in cycles (of about 20 years) and how it might lead to the revival of many Morrison concepts.
Morrison did most of his 'conventional' work from about 1995 to 2010 and the generation of writers who grew up reading him are getting into comics right about now.
Some recent examples:
-Orlando had Prometheus in Midnighter
-Orlando had the Subway Pirates in Midnighter & Apollo
-Orlando's first JLA arc is very reminiscent of Morrison' first
-Seeley's Grayson played with lots of Morrison concepts
-his current Nightwing arc is a Morrison redux
There was probably sth else recently, but I forgot.
(Also, Tomasi's Superman had Frankenstein, and the sequel to Multiversity, but a) Tomasi isn't exactly new b)IIRC he edited Morrison before, so there's a connection there.)
What do you think? Are we entering the era of Morrison homages?

Not exactly Hypercrisis related, but dissapointed I was in Glasgow and had to head home a few days before the Quitely exhibition opened. The advertising was mostly is work with Morrison, so he might even be there on opening day if any anon wants a chance at meeting him.

How does Hypercrisis differ from Hypertime?

Wasn't Hypertime a catchall name for the theory that pretty much everything was canon or somesuch?

Al Ewing is helping to bring the hypercrisis to Marvel. He already tried to play with the nature of stories in Loki: Agent of Asgard, and now the big bad of the eternity war has been revealed to be the first firmament, a Morrison creation who seems to be Marvel's version of the overmonitor.

It's curious to see the differences in behaviour, thought. Even when the overmonitor felt infected by the germ multiverse, it was mostly driven by curiosity, and it attempted to contain it, while its hatred became Mandrakk and was sealed away. The firmament, on the other hand, seems to complete despise the multiverse and desire its destruction.

Not Empty Hand. If you recall the images. Empty Hand is the left/right opposite of the Hand of Creation. That thing had the same hand and ended with a handshake like thing triggering a merger of the two. Like others said, the primordial darkness before creation then is accepted and brought into creation in the end of the arc.

Other fun info about that arc:
It tied into Crisis on Infinite Earths
The Constantine show used the same arc
Therefore the show Constantine actually had a plot that could have lead to Crisis on Infinite Earths

New Superman is fucking fantastic. I personally think Yang is doing a better Morrison than Way right now. Way is still doing great though and I recommend the Young Animal books to any Morrison fan.
