I want to say yes but the way Games Workshops just hands out IP rights to anyone in the street, it would probably be full made of flash and about Ultramarines.

These 2 goof balls would make an amazing 40k cartoon

Funny way of spelling Black Templars you've got there.
>>91178690
>>91178738

If they are to make a 40k cartoon we do not use any past chapters

>genndy will never animate beautiful space battles between the imperium and chaos
>genndy will never animate a glorious space marine chapter leading an invasion

In all honesty, 40k seems like it would be horrible in a show format. The universe is completely ridiculous and inherently sounds like powerwank fan fiction. Without really dulling out most of the out there aspects of the 40k universe, it would be hard to manage any sort of interesting story short of a Clone Wars-esque short series of the Imperial Guard
>>91178765
>an entire chapter made up of men not good enough to become captains
nah.

Mini-series that follows one of the Lamenters.
>>91178283
I would watch a live action HBO series about the Great Crusade, from the end of the conquest of Terra to the victory parade on Ullanor. Though it would be interesting to see how the script would deal with the issue of the Lost Primarchs.
Why not a series about those space marines that have the same exact fucking mutation as Wolverine?
>>91178807
I would watch the hell out of an IG-centric story.
>>91178344
As far as I know, they tried to copyright the term "space marine"

>there is an in-universe device that tracks how many kills this guy made and it was so many that it reset back to 0 making him want to kill even more

>>91178807
Nah, much like Clone Wars you just need a few strong character designs, one or two memorable traits per characters, and just enough background for coherency.
>Miniseries about Orkz fucking around in a Metalocalypse style

>>91179055
How many different regiments?
I still maintain that 40k would best be served by a Band of Brother's style miniseries rather than big ol movie. A tv show could work if its established by switching character focus every 3-5 episodes.
>>91178283
An episodic based series about Space Mehreens destroying the enemies of man while ending every day with a lesson about team work and annihilating those who stray from the Light of the Emperor? Sure. Have a main adversary from each faction to fight with the occasional name drop to some major character or event.
>>91179098
you cant just have a show with a plot and just goofy shit all over like tranny demons holding boombox cannons
>>91179055

I'd watch that
Then again, you'd also need an Ogryn and a Ratling. No need to bend convention since this will be a first public outing, we gotta dive deep into the typical 40k archetypes
Make a miniseries about the Catachan and you got my vote.

>>91183441
>Sigmar
A cool dude in Warhammer Fantasy who was worshipped as a god by fantasy humans.
GW created the End Times event to kill off their 30-year old setting that didn't sell anymore to create a new one with Fantasy Space Marines to appeal to 40k fans. And Warhammer Fantasy is now called Age of Sigmar instead.
"Sigmar'd" refers to GW killing off an entire setting to replace it with a new one.
In other words, just doomsayers who believe GW would ruin their most profitable franchise with the same fate.

That said, I mean Fantasy Fantasy, not Age of Sigmar. He appeared to some guy lost in the warp and fought alongside him for a while before going their separate ways, from what I remember.
>>91183832
I mean, it could, it's just the plot advancing would concern the characters themselves and not the universe as a whole. They will live, grow, and probably die, but at best their efforts will ultimately just keep status quo (which, considering the alternative, is not the worst thing that can happen).
>>91178318
>I want to say yes but the way Games Workshops just hands out IP rights to anyone in the street, it would probably be full made of flash and about Ultramarines.
No. GW doesn't just go throwing around their IP, they guard it zealously. That's the reason why you'll probably never see a show or movie of any sort about their franchisee, because they don't want anyone else to play with, or more accurately make money off of their IP.
>>91178344
They sent a cease and desist letter to an author who wrote an kids e-book called "Spots the Space Marine" about a mother, who was in the US Marines and fought aliens in space. GW tried to claim that they owned the rights to the term Space Marine
>>91181796
Ciaphas Cain is basically 40k Blackadder. He'd be perfect for a series, as his books have shown.

>>91178283
I honestly believe that this is one of those things that just wouldn't work out if anyone tried. Honestly? No.
Warhammer 40k is simply a ginormous circus of popular fiction.
Anything you can do in 40k was probably better served in the material they took their all of their ideas from.
Adaptations tend to be worse than original content as a pretty good rule of thumb and 40k does nothing but adaptations.
>>91183724
They'll claim the accent is ripping off AAVE, not having a clue where the accent comes from, and not caring.
After all, they believe you can't be racist against white people, no matter how dispossessed and disenfranchised they are, and SJW trust fund kiddies don't give a single fuck about class issues.
>>91180255
Just ask some Chavs to say stuff.
>>91178283
Yes. I'm intrigued by the franchise, but don't have the time, money, or friends for a tabletop game. A show would let people like myself actually get into it.

>>91179055
>For some reason a bunch of IG from separate regiments team up
Combined regiments is standard practice on a lot of battlefields. Planets tend to have a focus towards one type of warfare or another and the Imperium prefers it if no one part of its forces are independent enough to fight on its own (so, for example, the Imperial Navy runs the troop transports and aircraft but don't have ground troops so that if one group rebels they won't be terribly effective). Given how murderously horrible 40k battlefields tend to get, surviving guardsmen do tend to stick together even if the rest of their unit gets obliterated.
The Only War rpg even gives you the option of combined units, so you could have, for example, a Vorstroyan, a Mordian and a Cadian riding around in a Steel Legion chimera. Alternatively you have the core squad your story follows from one regiment and then have guest appearances from others as the war continues and the squad has new missions to complete (support the armoured push, infiltrate the jungle fortress, help sabotage a refinery in the polar regions)

The best part about the Redeemer is that it was just a normal day in Hive Primus, Necromunda. The Redeemer was the hero of the story, but he's just one guy out of billions. There's equally insane cultists, violent gangers, hideous abominations and tube-in-the-head technofetishists all over the world who have never heard of him who are going through equally demented adventures of their own. Its a huge place, which was part of an even more huge setting.
These days the focus is all on Space Marines, special characters and Space Marine special characters, far less on the smaller scale stuff.
>>91185832
Did you see how they reacted to the "Cash me ousside" girl? It's like they didn't know there were ghetto cultures in other parts of the world, much less that poor white people existed.

Right, your right. Confused him for that company of wulfin spacewolves looking for the thousand sons in the warp.

Don't forget cypher has hooked up with papa smurf and knows where the lion is and what happened to him. And the mechanicum is working with the iron hands to "stimulate" the living metal on ferrus hands. Although if I remember correctly that could have been by abnett and he plays fast and loose with fluff.

Wouldn't it just be GI Joe but with 90% of the characters be Cobra Fodder

Replace firefly with farscape and its golden
I'd like a GOOD wh:40k cartoon
I'd also like a jetpack and the omnitrix, some things we just can't have, anon

You don't need captains when all you've got is a bunch of zealous mouthfoamers.
Gaunts ghosts animated series tragedy show when
>Tfw no dauntless tomboy Cadian gf who likes to wrestle and play fight.
>Tfw no broken and emotionless Krieger gf who you swear has the faintest glimmer in her eyes when she sees you.
>Tfw no fit, wild Catachan rambo-gf who likes ambushing you.
>Tfw no cyka blyat Vostroyan gf who's taller and can drink more than you.
>Tfw no degenerate punk Savlar gf to pull pranks on superior officers and have wild sex with.
>Tfw no agile caramel Tallarn gf who wants all your precious fluids.Do you think love can bloom, even on an eternal battlefield?

>I've said it for years: Band of Brothers style adaption of Gaunt's Ghosts
THIS YO
I'd actually suggest a series starting with the Honor Guard arc which occasionally has character oriented flashback episodes for stuff like the Veruvunhive conflict, the Founding, Gaunt's own origins.
Shit like the 'Lija Cue' sideplot or the plot surrounding Gol Kolea's entire fucking life 'Will he, or won't he reveal himself to his own fucking children! AHGHAHGGHGFHSGLFDG memmory loss' is perfect for pulling in the drama audience.
Hell, you can even pull in the young romance audience with Brin Milo and Sanian.

I loved Event Horizon, so yes.
This thread and its degenerate cross-board miscegenation ought to be purged.
