Actually that's not true. His best more recent stories before he died, came from Aaron's run (especially the Weapon X series), while his X-Men comics have been the worse (with the exception of Remender's X-Force, but this mainly because Logan fits well in black ops teams, because of his past). Wolverine works better solo. Especially the stories that involve Madripoor, Japan and spy stuff.
