I don't hate them because I don't read X-Men, but I agree that the best thing to do is kill them off. Do a sort of horror movie thing with the villain picking them off one at a time, they have enough history for it to have some impact instead of just being fodder while also not being popular enough to kill the tension with the readers knowing that there isn't any real risk.

I think they just don't know what to do without he characters. Before they had the Inhuman "Rivalry"/shilling and before that it was Wolverine vs Rightclops. Now that the Inhuman Gas is gone and main adult Scott and Logan are dead, they don't know what to do with the Mutants.
