This is a story about a room, the people who lived in it, and the events that took place both inside and outside of it.
When you started working on a piece like this and then found this book a week later
God damn that really kicked my dick in.... this is a great book though glad I own a hard copy
Thanks for this, I've always wanted to read this one, but the price tag given the concept seemed a bit much
>>91166505
This, seems like just a webcomic with a needlessly steep point of entry(a problem with all indie comics since their whole schtick is being "hidden") no sane person should have to pay for this to read it so I'm glad it's scanned
>>91166897
Thanks OP, but I think Imma go back to my fighty-tighties now.
>>91166683
>one of the "once in a decade" comics
>no sane person should have to pay for it
Still annoyed that McGuire was in our comic festival a few years ago for a panel and signing but there were only two copies of this there and I didn't get one :(
>>91167015
It's a comic made up of minimal dialogue two page spreads with boring art, nobody should pay for this especially when it goes for like 20 bucks and upward to 40
>>91167083
As if dialogue or words at all are even needed for comics.
>>91167138
It is if you want people to actually buy your comic, either that or make it cheaper
>>91167175
'no'
This is an amazing graphic novel.
>>91167244
For people who value their time yes, no matter how "mature" your comic is people aren't going to spend a lot of money for something that takes 5 minutes to read
>>91166683
It's a coffee table book. You keep it on your coffee table and impress people who look at books on your coffee table.
We should all get together someday and make a list of Essential Coffee Table Comics.
this is awfully mundane
>>91167360
What anon is trying to say is that you didn't feel it was worth the price because you did not understand it.
That's the usual line, anyway. Also I'm pretty sure if you don't read it, you're somehow limiting yourself. I've never really gotten how exactly, though.
Did I miss anything, altcomix gurus?
>>91167481
You just don't get it man
>>91167467
>Coffe table
You're limiting yourself.
I like to ise Chris Ware comics as a substitute for pie charts during power point presetations. Nobody notices.
>>91167539
seems like something that was more interesting as a concept than it was in execution. rather dull isn't it?
bump, I love this book,
It was like I was somehow reading a really good hiphop album, like entroducing, or Since I Left You
Like it was remixing all these separate narratives to form some strange visual song
Or at least that's what it felt like
>>91166683
Did you never read the original version in Raw?
well this sure is a comic I guess
>>91167587
It helps to actually have the physical version
I really do mean this, when you can flip through it at speed then it actually impacts much more
>>91167655
>>91167587
Also, when you flip through it as a book, the concept becomes much better as every scene takes place in the same space, I guess, instead of scrolling down a 4chan page
>>91167655
that may be the case, i take back my judgement
>>91167643
If I married the women I followed home, then I'd be in jail for several counts of pedophiliathis sounded funnier in my head
>>91167587
Yup
>>91166683
It's funny how indie comics and readers are always referred as snotty, and yet condencending comments like this are all too common
>>91167920
Obviously this is a generalization but I feel like there are way more people who hate on the alternative or non-mainstream sutff on the premise that its just gimmicky or contrarian. Plenty of my friends dislike indie movies just because they think these movies are 'full of themselves' Same case with high end cuisine where people take stuff out of context like the small entrees and plates when you get like 10 of em. Music that isn't derivative of the popular trends? It's weird for weirdness sake.
It's not about people not having the capability to understand or appreciate, its about people not willing to.
>>91168168
is that ben franklin
>>91168046
its easier to hate on something when you dont give it a fair chance, and do so to convince yourself your not missing out on anything
>>91168046
What bothers me most about it sometimes a comic about time and reletivism is just a comic about time and relativism.
I feel the general approach of people who don't like indie comics is looking deeper into something instead enjoying the exploration of a simple concept.
>>91167655
>>91167703
So far this is fantastic, and I can completely see where you're coming from.
In a couple days or weeks when this comic pops back up in my head I might go ahead and make the purchase for the book.
Absolutely lovely.
Thanks for sharing, OP.
>>91168218
I agree completely.
Especially when the theme is stark, as in >>91168193
it's just easier to enjoy it for what it is because that's all its trying to be.
>>91168769
kek
>>91166683
Yeah, that really makes artists want to work hard at something. People like you shitting on their efforts.
thanks
thank you for this! I really wanted to read this:)
I'm very sorry about the delay. I ran into connection issues, and these are very, very large files.
>>91168253
>>91170976
Good catch, hadn't noticed.
>>91168046
I personally do find this comic really gimmicky and it doesn't do much for me.
>>91168046
That's a lot of words to get to "they're limiting themselves"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IL45YOtbuy0that's him doing the bassline
The end. Thanks for reading!

>ddddddddamage control
>>91171696
well yeah, if you don't bother trying to read, watch, eat, whatever something then you are limiting yourself
It doesn't matter if you don't like it in the end
>>91170735
money will always exist in some way or another

thanks OP, it was great
Thanks for the storytime!
Pretty cool, OP.
