Well the bad news is, it's the Cuck Wendig Aftermath Trilogy, which is not the best written or engaging.

The story is a side-story in the Interlude chapters which explains that Boba's armor was salvaged from the pit and bought by a new character, who is rolling around with a Twi'lek, and the Rancor keeper from ROJT. Boba is nowhere to be seen, and presumably dead in the pit.

I'd recommend you listen to the audiobooks if you want to experience it for yourself, they present the story much better than Wendig's writing on its own did.

Anon, they literally already did this, in the comics, with Ben emphasizing that that's about the only noteworthy thing he's had to think about since coming to Tatooine.

This is why there's not going to be a movie there, because they basically outright told us that nothing else happens.

Seriously, go read those Ben issues, they're basically "Ben is miserable and NOTHING HAPPENS: The Issue".

Maul showing up was probably the only other thing that was significant. I doubt there is anything in those last 2 years that would make for a movie, especially with Ben at that age and fragility.

The Vong are never going to come back in canon for several reasons. Disney holds the big story events for the movies, and sadomasochistic bloodthirsty savages with gross technology doesn't sound like the best option for the villains. Rebels is far too tame when it comes to violence for them to be in it. Imperial ships blowing up isn't as gruesome on a visual level as body horror. Looks like they won't do 10+ book series in a while so bringing them in just one book or a comic barely enough people read will result in a severely neutered Vong that isn't even like the old Vong. All the teases about things in the unknown regions are Lucasfilm trying to convince us Snoke is a good villain, nothing else.

Pablo himself also mentioned that the Vong were always controversial, which fed into such an idea not being favorable to be made.

This was disproven literally before TFA even came out, when Lucasfilm revealed that the Empire didn't end at Endor, and dedicated a trilogy of books (and other non-movie media) to that story.

You also have stuff like the formation of the Rebel Alliance, Vader vs Ahsoka (which was the grand finale of a story Lucasfilm had been telling for 8 years, and the first JEJ Vader fight since 1983), the comics revealing how Vader discovered the truth about Luke, ect.

It's easy to assume that the "biggest" stuff will be saved for movies, but this is only really true in the case of the Skywalker Saga. Lucasfilm has said repeatedly that they just find the right medium for the stories they want to tell. There are actually plenty of books, comics, and tv episodes that are "bigger" than Rogue One.

So don't take that stuff into consideration for what will/wont appear in movies/tv. Lucasfilm will find the right place for the story they want to tell. If they want to do the Vong, they will. (But again, based on what Pablo said, it's unlikely. He didn't seem too fond of them.)

I love ESB and it's an undeniably great film but I find that people who say that it's their favorite or that it's the best tend to not really know anything about the rest of the franchise and merely say that opinion to fit in without really understanding it at all. I can trust without further ado anybody's opinion on star wars media if they rank something else as their favorite thing, but if they say ESB I need them to justify their choice and prove that they aren't just memeing parroted opinions.

This might be an objective fact. The practically composited special effects in ROTJ are the most outstanding and complex works of art in cinematic history, only being (marginally) outdone by the most spectacular feats of CGI which have no real limitations.
