It just sounds completely off, and breaks immersion right off the bat, like when characters say the title of the show/movie in the show/movie.
Aku's narrated intro did no such thing, it felt natural for the character, it sounded like something you'd actually hear in the show, and it got you in a mindset to enjoy the episode.
With this one I get hooked right up until the end, then I feel like laughing at how bad that sounded.
