Presumably defeating Aku and getting back to the past will be more or less the same act. And Jackor Ashi killing Past Aku will be more or less epilogue since he'll likely already be verging on death and they simply emerge from the future, Aku yells either "BUT HOW!?" or "HWHAAAAAAT!?" and they strike the killing blow. Then they wrap things up with Emperor and Mother. Personally I want Jack to die defeating Aku and then give the mission to Ashi. Ashi exchanges sad faces with Jack's parents after they're finally freed then she gets to live in a world free of Aku after rebuilding Japan.

All right, let's be clear about something: Samurai Jack has never deviated too heavily from genre tropes and cliches. It's relied on its unique style and presentation to tell a familiar story in a refreshing way. Even episodes like Tale of X-9, The Princess and the Bounty Hunters, and the more recent second episode of season 5 are stories that have been done before.

Are you guys telling me you anons were expecting ANY significant subversion of expectations from this kind of show aside from maybe what might happen in the ending? Did you guys really expect Ashi wouldn't be redeemed? Did we grow up watching the same thing?
