Yeah, even after Peggy saved their ranch, she still basically told her "you were only fixing the problem that YOU caused in the first place!" instead of thanking her, which is probably why she gets so defensive whenever someone tells her not to do something even though it's obviously stupid, such as listening to some random tourists claiming that a plane was free to take off, or sinking money into an IQ test scam, or visiting a death row inmate and delivering "boggle sand" to him, or buying a bookstore just to have an "in" into the book club, or sabotaging her own family's thanksgiving dinner just because Bobby and Hank were spending time with one another, or entering a beauty pageant while being frumpy in comparison to the competition (attempting to get Nancy to give her good marks just because they're friends...)

It's actually kinda sad when you think about it really.

They just retconned the old mom out of existence. Cattle rancher mom is the only mom anymore. Also, the old mom wasn't nearly as much of a bitch to Peggy.

During one of the Thanksgiving episodes her old mom was stubborn too, at least about Brown Betty recipes, but yeah, she wasn't a complete bitch from what we saw of her.
