The Battle of Endor itself isn't affected by this, though. They still destroy the shield generator and still destroy the Death Star's reactor, which was already happening with or without the Emperor's death. The only way his death affects the outcome of the battle is if you buy into the EU battle meditation idea (which itself doesn't hold up since the conditions for a rebel victory, such as the generator being destroyed, were already happening before he died).

The Eclipse is the most amazing starship ever designed in fiction and was so powerful and unstoppable that the author of the comic it appeared in got lazy and realized that the heroes had no chance of destroying it or beating Palpatine.

So he literally makes R2D2 appear out of nowhere, go onto the ship, "communicates with its system and tells it to self-destruct", then leaves, and it self-destructs.

The second Eclipse is destroyed by Palpatine's uncontrollable Force power when the NR is losing horribly to him, so the same author gets lazy again and has Luke and Leia "channel their psychic energy" and cause Palpatine's powers to create a warphole to destroy his ship.

Typing this shit out makes me remember how mind-numbingly retarded the Emperor's clones comics were. Some of the EU is best left forgotten.

You're right that hyperspace takes precise calculations otherwise you take a huge risk.

You have no idea what you're talking about with this "at the edge of the system and take days to get to the planet" stuff. We see them arriving really close the planet all the time, even in the OT.

While I like the idea of some rebel cells being more brutal and in fact near terrorist and sometimes muck things up for the greater rebellion, Forrest Witikers character seem wasted and unnecessary, the imperial pilot had little character development. really you either needed to prune the team to give them more focus, or add more team members but have them already semi familiar with each other instead of complete strangers.
