The funny thing is, YTV put up a show with this exact premise after Reboot Season 3 wrapped up.

There were long fan campaigns going back 10 years at least to get ReBoot back. There was a shitty webcomic. There was the now aborted movie. And after all that time this is what everyone finally gets.

And despite all this there's no fucking resolution to the cliffhanger the original series ended on. The comics were supposed to be canon and literally just had Megabyte defeated offscreen before the comic even started just so they could introduce their cool OC. This is just, well, this. That's what makes it so frustrating. While a bunch of new episodes would be nice, at this point I think people just want a conclusion to The Hunt and that's it.
