Does anyone know why the characters looked so weird in this episode?
>>
>>91114039
The beginning, the spawn point, the root of all evil, patient zero etc.

and this is the birth point of the future trend of animation

Flapjack, honestly.

People will say that Adventure Time is "at fault" but they don't know what they're talking about.

Marceline is a shit character and deserves to have bananas shoved down all her orifices.

I liked Flapjack though, it was comfy.

>Flapjack>Chowder>Adventure Time>Steven Universe.
I think we may have tracked down the source, any common writers between these?
>>
>>91114215
Yeah, why does everyone forget about Flapjack?

It was the beginning of the modern era of cartoons
>>
>>91114215
Even when I was younger I knew Ward's style looked like crap

>It was the beginning of the modern era of cartoons

I dunno, I don't really think so because I don't think Flapjack was popular/big enough to affect the majority of the cartoon medium.

Also Flapjack felt more old-fashioned than modern.
>>
>>91114287

>that picture
>Adventure Time/Wreck-It Ralph/moe anime
>>
>>91114313
Yeah.
Flapjack alone had

>Ward (Adventure time)
>Hirsch (Gravity Falls)
>McHale (Over the Garden Wall)
>JG Quintel (Regular show)
Plus a lot of storyboarders who worked on multiple shows, like Kent Osborne
>>
>thing is popular
>thing is easy to replicate
HOLY SHIT NO FUCKING WAY FUCK SHIT ASS SHIT GOD DAMN FUCKING SJWS WON AGAIN DUMB LIBTARDS BTFO
>>
>>91114498
Sometimes things don't have to be hugely popular to influence the medium.

Very disturbing.

Pendleton Ward, Patrick McHale, Alex Hirsch, J.G. Quintel, Peter Browngardt

you were a shitty kid
>>
>>91114668
well not really, because Flapjack was a successful enough show to springboard the people who worked on it into finding their own place in the industry and eventually creating their own show.

the animation industry has literally always been a club.

the 1940s was the last point in history when animation was good
>>
>>91114215
Flapjack was the birth of the modern artstyle, but it's writing style was still very oldschool. Adventure time patented DEEPEST LORE
>>

SpongeBob is the physical incarnation of the "good old days" you keep begging for
>>

Almost every major staff member from Adventure Time, Regular Show, and Gravity Falls came from Flapjack.
And those shows spawned everything else.
It's hugely influential

>>
>>91116066
Like someone else mentioned, Flapjack is the 2 Stupid Dogs of this era. A LOT of big names in the animation industry had 2 Stupid Dogs as their first major gig, for whatever reason.

The internet is for porn. Children won't need the cartoons aired on tv to be sexy cause they can just look up fanart, and then commission sexy stuff like their mom doing Finn and Jake.

Mark my words, toddlers commissioning porn with their allowances will become an issue in the next decade
>>
>>91117476
What about Ren and Stimpy?
>>
>>91115341
Adventure Time made it cool, though.
>>
>>91114498
Rocko's Modern Life wasn't as popular as Ren & Stimpy, but it birthed the next generation of showrunners.

>>91117476
and some of the big names that didn't have flapjack as their first big gig (JG Quintel for instance) had the show were most of the crew was from (Camp Lazlo) as their first big gig

He was talking about Flapjack which is 9 years old. So if he's 18 he would be talking about himself when he was 9 or 10. It works.

Chowder was better and you are all fags
Sure flapjack was edgier but it had too many gross out moment while chowder looked really cool with the wierd texture effect that didn't move with the clothes and was surreal as fuck while retaining enough consistency to know what was going on
Flapjack didn't manage that

This, Pen and the guy who did Regular Show both worked on this, and they're responsible for propagating the common art style seen in modern cartoons.
