As far character dynamic goes it's uninteresting. As far what Spider-man is, it makes the overall character weaker. And I get it, we get the actual self-made, self sacrificing Spidey by the end of it but the under tones and Stark baggage just isn't the same. Spidey should never want to be a hero "to be like you".
