Am I the only one who really wants to like this show but can't seem to get into it?

There's a few episodes I do genuinely enjoy (Rooting for the Enemy and Smooth Opera-tor being some examples) but overall this show feels like a middle of the road cartoon so far.

The humor feels awkward and poorly timed or not that funny to begin with, the character designs don't feel all that unique (Milo and Diogee being the exception), and I wish they'd do more songs with Weird Al (they've done surprisingly little considering he voices the main character)

It just feels like the first season of Star Vs. so far, where it's kinda awkward and it feels like they don't know exactly what they're doing yet

Hopefully it will get better as it goes on much like Star Vs.

Well, Dan Vs wasn't exactly a "kids" show, sure it aired alongside show that must not be named, but I think it was able to get away with it because:
A) it was a short sight gag written in small writing, so I guess either the Hub didn't know about it or figured kids wouldn't notice/understand it
B) It was on a really obscure channel, so it probably had more leeway.

like i stated before and what >>91118689 said they knew what they were doing with P&F but now they're on a new show with a new concept so they're trying new things so that it doesn't end up being a copy of P&F. right now i would suggest that they work on the timing of the jokes as sometimes their would be a slight awkward pause that doesn't wreck the timing but creates less impact for the jokes they make. also all the main characters and recurring side characters got more personality or more "character" as the show went on and i feel like they're adding too much backstory character traits and whatever to them to early like with zack stating that he was in a band that one time and less then few episodes later his former band shows up i feel like if they're going to add more continuity to the show they have to build it up.

Spatz is a girl from the US and Mark is a guy from Hong Kong. Both are popular artists who make fancomics - Spatz for various fandoms, Mark mostly for Gravity Falls and, after it ended, Star vs the Forces of Evil. He also did some PnF stuff back in the day.
